I’m getting to the point in learning a piece on piano where my hands are starting to know the music so it’s causing all kinds of confusion as I start the switch from sight reading to muscle memory
the next morning, I text her to pick up some product on the way I to work. At work, we make conversation, joke about the night before. She was in the kitchen. I was up front. The shift wasn’t working so I had to swap her and I. She got a little butt hurt about it, but after 45 minutes we talked about it and she was fine.
The shift was an absolute disaster.
After we closed, I was cleaning the kitchen dishes and she was cleaning the drive thru’s dishes. Oh, did we sing that night!
She asked if I was her bestie, I asked if I could be the flower girl in her wedding. We said yes.
We belted out the most tragic love songs we knew as we scrubbed those dishes.
After the shift. She asked me for my Snapchat. I obliged. The next morning was my last day at her store. I opened up and all through out we where texting back and forth. Talking about grades. Some regulars, what she had going on for the weekend.
I got off and she clocked in. Gave me a hug through the tears.
I drove home and crashed. Waking to reply to her messages.
My family was headed to Disney the next morning, so I went out that evening to pickup some masks, quarters for tolls, and snacks.
Inevitably I ended up back at the store.
She and I hung out in the dinning room, In the office, on the roof, and in the parking lot till hours after we both said we needed to leave. I called her on the drive home. Chatted for a minute, then I fell asleep once more.
