BattlEye has enabled Linux support, Bungie, please flip the switch!!!

Forgive me if this topic already has a thread, I do not use the forum much. Bungie, BattlEye has (or soon will) taken the first step toward getting all games protected by their service to work for Linux players. This is something Linux gamers including myself have waited a LONG time for. I have completely switched to Linux and regrettably had to stop playing Destiny 2 since it was not available for linux due to the anti-cheat incompatibility. Now, the ball is in your court. I am not a developer, but from what I understand, you need to update the BattleEye SDK and flip the switch that enables linux support. This may be something you already plan to do, as it would let anyone who owns the upcoming Steam Deck play your game, but I wanted to personally request this vital change that will be a major step forward for Linux users. On behalf of all Linux gamers who miss or wish they could play Destiny 2, PLEASE bungie, flip that switch!!!

  • The reason Bungie likely chose to switch to BattlEye was due to their planned Linux development, and they didn't have resources in-house to expand support for their homegrown anti-cheat. I wouldn't expect to hear any solid news until close to the Steam Deck launch.
