An tale that predates the Golden Age. One of sorrow and loss.
“Long ago, before the Golden Age, there stood a great city. One of the defining features of this City was its Towers. They were 2 near-identical towers that stood high above the City. They served as a large place for international trade, back when the continents weren’t at war. It was a time of peace one prosperity. That all changed on this date.”
“A deadly blow was stuck to this City when an archaic form of transportation, called an airplane, struck one of the Towers. Many brave souls died on impact. Shortly after, the Tower collapsed. Many more lost their lives during the collapse of the First Tower.”
“Later, another airplane struck the Second Tower. Again, many brave souls died and the Second Tower collapsed. We later found out that this was the work of terrorists who had hijacked the planes and crashed them into the Towers.”
“There was also reports of a plane that was going to hit the Capital. But a brave group of civilians took out the terrorists and crashed the plane before it could do any harm.”
“Today is the day we remember all those who lost their lives during this attack. The terrorists struck a heavy blow to the country once called America. We will remember all who died and those who sacrificed their lives trying to save people for the rest of our lives!”
-Lord Shaxx educating a young group of Guardians on Pre-Golden Age history.
Thanks for taking time to read this. It’s sad, but this day is becoming less and less important each year. We need to remember those who lost their lives on this day.
