Program can't start due to mysterious missing file (win7, 8, 10)

Getting this error after battleye starts Windows 7 This has been reported on Windows 8 and 10 as well. Reinstalls haven't helped, replacing dll hasn't worked, reportedly upgrading to Windows 10 has had some success but also some failures. Patience is required, but silence isn't If you're having the same problem, please post here so we can keep the pressure up. • So, let me say first, that I totally get the resistance to upgrading to 10. I know there's been reports saying that upgrading did and didn't work. I'm just going to report what worked for me. I just finished upgrading to 10, reinstalling D2 and I'm in. Your results may vary, but I can confirm it works for me. It's not the ideal solution imo, and it's a step we shouldn't have to take as a work around, but this fixed my problem. The radio silence on this problem is both troubling and disappointing. Saying that a "small number of players" are experiencing this issue is, frankly, insulting. This is a Priority 1 Defect being treated with the same amount of concern as a Priority 5 with an easy Work Around.
