1. The Perfected Legion (Dungeon)
“This is Hunter Shaw Han, broadcasting from the Cosmodrome on Earth. It’s been weeks since the unknown Cabal Warship crashed outside the Rocketyard. Both my teams I sent to do recon have gone radio-silent, but the 2nd team informed me that the ship managed to breach the quarantine wall surrounding the Plaguelands. I got a feeling something bad’s happening out there. I request a Fireteam of better trained and equipped Guardians head in there to investigate, my guys just don’t seem to be enough. Over and out.”
2. The Perfected Legion (Faction)
“My name is Au’ugas, rank: Legionary. Our Cohort of the Skyburners, led by former-Val Ha’alga, has gone rogue. Primus Ta’aun, Valuses Mau’ual and Tlu’urn, and nearly all other major leadership of the Legion has been destroyed aboard the Dread Ship. Ha’alga made the call to abandon the others that wished to fight for the sake of our survival. We are now bound for a frozen moon orbiting a blue planet in the outer system, wherein Ha’alga says we will remain for the foreseeable future. Legionary Qu’uragis asked if we would return should the Dominus answer our distress call, but to our shock, Ha’alga said no. She believes it is best for us to start our own lives independent of Emperor Calus’ Empire or Dominus Ghaul’s Republic, instead we would be ‘an independent, strong Iron Legion.’ Bracus Ba’assk protested that we have known no other way, but Ha’alga assured us that we will find ways to survive. I can only hope. Victory or Death.”
3. Va’aruul, Perfected Imperator
“The SIVA has been a blessing. It made us whole, showed us the path to immortality and strength. We must ~consume enhance replicate~ for we are the one true Perfected Legion.
Curse Bracus Ba’assk and the supporters of his insurrection! All Cabal, all species must be subservient to the SIVA! Ha’alga wants to guide us as the SIVA intends, and go we must! ~Consume enhance replicate~”
4. Zu’ulnur, Lieutenant of Consumption
“~consume. enhance. replicate.~
~Directive emphasis: consume.~
~if [host] cannot dominate [enemy], then activate Emphasis 01.~
~consume to reach PERFECTION via [satiation].~”
5. Luma, Lieutenant of Enhancement
“~consume. enhance. replicate.~
~Directive emphasis: enhance.~
~if [host] is inefficient against [enemy], then activate Emphasis 02.~
~enhance to reach PERFECTION via [modification].~”
6. Ca’uor, Lieutenant of Replication
“~consume. enhance. replicate.~
~Directive emphasis: replicate.~
~if [host] defenses are limited against [enemy], then activate Emphasis 03.~
~ replicate to reach PERFECTION via [infinity], continue replication after PERFECTION.~
~consume. enhance. replicate.~”
7. Remnant of Ba’assk, The Banished
“This is it for me, isn’t it? What a pathetic way to die. A shame I couldn’t go down fighting like my brothers and sisters outside. Instead I’m being dragged into a chamber of some sort, Ha’alga’s loyalists only chant ‘Consume, enhance, replicate!’
Primus Ha’alga has lost her mind to the strange machines! She now calls herself a ‘Phoenix of Perfection’ that ‘rose from the ashes of the Cabal,’ as if our people mean nothing to her!
Myself and others such as Legionary Au’ugas attempted to overthrow Ha’alga and her so-called ‘Perfected Legion.’ It seemed only we could see that SIVA did not intend to help us, it instead wanted to implement us into its own schemes. Myself and those who stood with me as the remnants of the Iron Legion fought to restore order and break SIVA’s control over us. I knew it would be up to me to replace Ha’alga as Primus.
In the end I failed, but I do not regret the attempt. I’d rather my brothers and sisters die fighting than be enslaved.
They are plugging wires into me, all over my body. Across from me stands some sort of dead Eliksni, seemingly another victim to the machines. I feel them coursing inside me now. They wish for me to ~consume enhance replicate~ but I shall not! I refuse!
Glory to the Iron Legion! Victory or Death! Victory or Death! Vic~consume enhance replicate consume enhance replicate~”
8. Ha’alga, Phoenix of Perfection
“~consume enhance replicate~
We stand at the beginning of a revolution. For centuries, the Cabal knew nothing but war and subversion, strife and struggle ~consume enhance replicate~
The old Empire only wished to dominate the stars, shattering worlds and enslaving alien species. Emperor Calus led the Cabal down a path of gluttony and laziness disguised as splendor. I gladly sided with Dominus Ghaul and his instigators of the Midnight Coup, thinking the Cabal would finally start a new era of life. But of course ~consume enhance replicate~ Ghaul didn’t wish to change much of how we lived other than to return to the old ways, and as some sort of Republic instead.
I’d considered leaving for months prior to the War. When it came and our Legions were all but broken amongst the rings of Saturn and elsewhere, I made the choice to plot a new course, so that I and those who served me could live free of struggle. And we did, until the ‘black edge’ Emperor Calus ceaselessly warned us of arrived. It chased us to the inner system, where we were forced to crash land on the supposed homeworld of the Dead Persons. We were trapped, cornered, doomed to fail.
But then, SIVA presented itself to us! ~consume enhance replicate~ It first showed Luma the path to PERFECTION ~consume enhance replicate~ who then showed me. And now, my Legion, I wish to gift you all. Do not listen to Bracus Ba’assk’s words, for he knows not what he does. When he sees the gift for himself ~consume enhance replicate~ we will all be perfected specimens in the eyes of SIVA! And we can begin a new era for the Cabal! One in which we do not need to fight and assimilate, but where all living beings can come together under the same creed! Consume, enhance, replicate!”
*repeated shouts and chants of “Consume, enhance, replicate”*
~consume enhance replicate~”
9. The Perfected Oath (Exotic)
“~death. consume. enhance. replicate. victory.~”
“This is Legionary Au’ugas. A great black Shadow has arrived in the system. It attacked us, chased us off of the moon where our Legion had been living. It had been our home for so long, I almost miss it. Primus Ha’alga named the moon ‘New Acrius,’ in honor of our Warship. According to our Psions, the Dead Persons had originally named it ‘Triton.’
In our attempt to flee, the Shadow damaged the Acrius. We crashlanded on a new world, the home of the Dead Persons according to Red Legion intelligence. Remarkably, nearly all of us survived. The Primus ordered that we should immediately begin repairs to try to get this ship airborne again, and if it weren’t possible, to instead hijack another. Either way, we were not supposed to stay here.
But then our scouts discovered a strange fortress to the north with highly advanced technology inside. Ha’alga ordered our Psion Flayer Luma to lead a research team to investigate. They came back…different. Glowing red nanobots and strange red wires coursed all over them. Luma insisted she had a gift she wanted to share. The Primus was highly suspicious, I could tell, and asked to speak with Luma privately. I have not seen them since.
I worry of our Legion’s fate on this planet. So does Bracus Ba’assk. I haven’t said anything, but I’ve had private thoughts of turning myself in to the Red Legion in hopes they would accept me. The Primus is trying her hardest, but I fear there is nothing more she can do. I can only hope my fears are wrong.
Victory or Death.”
