Looks as if slide nerf is targeted at specials:
Pellet spread: shotty
Stability: fusion
Flinch: sniper
So why hurt primary gunplay when the primary sandbox is on the right tracked to be balanced?
Just apply slide nerf to when wielding specials & heavy
-
This hurts hand cannons more than other primaries in case you cant figure it out. No type of Rifles really suffer from the slide penalties, only hand cannons. How often do you see players sliding and shooting with any rifle? On pc all I ever see are players sliding with ace of spades and landing all their headshots because everyone has perfect aim with hand cannons. Try doing that with any rifle archetype and you get destroyed. Im glad they are nerfing slide, this will tone down the BS that hand cannons also have as an advantage over other primaries. Maybe slide shot will cancel the stability penalty so it will get more use but the flinch? Im actually happy about that. No more perfect aim hand cannon guardians when sliding.
-
No, I'm tired of everyone using slide as an entry into every encounter, this includes primary weapons.
-
Stop sliding as a crutch
-
Facts, would rather no nerf but would settle for a special nerf of all special whilst sliding i guess.
-
Go back about a month or even further....... This is aimed at shotguns......because Bungie can't make maps that discourage shotgun usage. So they're screwing our movement even more instead. I thought Stasis freeze was bad.......well sheeeesh Bungie can go further back than 2 steps.

What we need is hand cannon peek shooting nerfed. Like make it to where aim assist sucks when you try to come in and out of cover aiming or something. It wouldn't really be too bad of a nerf, you'd probably still be able to do it mostly. But it would increase the difficulty in peek shooting just a bit. lol.

Did I miss the part where it said there was a cooldown on the nerf? I read it as "while sliding" Also, how do the "while crouching" perks affect the efficacy of the nerf?
-
It’s not about skill vs not skilled, slide shotgunning is easy slide shooting is easy, I just don’t want to be forced to play that way. I prefer to be able to actually defend an objective without having to run away and then 180 slide back in to get a kill…
-
Listen as long as shotgun apes are being nerf Im down for it

Edited by GIVE EM HELLBOY: 8/7/2021 6:51:34 PMNo Im happy it changes primaries too. These sweats wont be able to abuse a broken movement system for easy kills anymore.
Looks as if slide nerf is targeted at specials:
This nerf also had HC’s in Mind. This is clearly a nerf to try and lessen the skill gap too.
-
Sliding as a whole needs a nerf, gameplay looks like snake glitching in SOCOM....
-
Slide nerf is needed for hand cannons. Though Im worried how it'll hurt SMGs
-
Says the guy with adept handcannons on every character. Xbox is unplayable, every single player slides nonstop with handcannon or shotgun.
-
Slide sniping isn’t a problem at all. Why nerf that?
-
Some of ya'll haven't realised that you can just use a slug shotgun and not be affected by the spread changes lol. The flinch bonus factor will be annoying though, I generally just peak shot my Chaperone shots.
-
Personally I think it wont be that much. Look at how many times shotgun got nerfed, They still good lol. I think they will still do good in pvp.
-
Can't wait to see all those walking, running and jumping guardians in crucible lol

Edited by Hawpy: 8/7/2021 10:58:37 PMBows - Stability is irrelevant to them, unlikely that you'll fully charge a shot in time to fire before the slide ends Scout Rifles - if you're at close quarters, more flinch and less stability isn't going to be what gets you killed when using one Pulse Rifles - see Scout Rifles Auto Rifles - good for sustained fire; you have to sprint in order to slide, which means you can't keep up the fire and sliding makes it harder for you to track the enemy because of the extra movement SMGs - for the most part, see Auto Rifles Sidearms - the only other primary weapons (beside Hand Cannons) that will feel the full effect of the changes It won't hurt primary gameplay nearly as much as you think it will. Hand Cannons, which are more than due a general nerf, and Sidearms, which almost nobody uses, are the only primary weapons to have a valid claim that they're majorly affected by the changes. Even for Specials, GLs can practically ignore them entirely. No one who slides with a Sniper is actually shooting during the slide, so the changes don't really affect them either; I'd argue that Slug Shotguns are more the target of the flinch increase than Snipers. Fusions are getting a rework next season and we know nothing of the details, so anything we say now might not be true by the time the changes come into effect.

They called it a shake up! No purpose but to shake things up. That's what I got from it. I think? It's probably a sign that they don't know what to do with it anymore, hence they're shaking it up a bit, no?
-
Because of Last Word. Though I guess it could be dealt with by itself. lol But sliding is in general annoying anyways. lol.
-
How many people are sliding with a fusion, or a sniper? If you slide against another player who is using a shotgun, you’re going to lose. I’m wondering if slideshot will become more valuable, or if it will become useless.
-
you forget one thing whats the other gun people like to slide and shoot with.... oh that's right ... hand cannon's.
-
Why not just don't nerf handhold supernova in pve or don't make hard light a blue weapon when shooting hives that would require effort and this studio isn't famous for doing that
-
Waaaaaaaaah waaaaah
-
Or maybe just make slide riskier to use all around instead of specifically tuning each weapon type.
