I understand some of the highest level content in the game is difficult. I understand that the stun mechanics on champions is sometimes finicky.
Shadebinder is boring and dumb, and it trivializes almost everything. For what it’s worth, it’s incredibly irritating when someone is steadfast on using it when champions are not difficult to stun.
Freezing and enemy takes away the damage debuff from stunning. It messes up barrier and unstoppable champions. The widespread use is infuriating when so many other builds are so useful and fun.
Encounters should be designed in a manner where totally incapacitating the enemy, or simply nuking it with some exotic handicap or artifact mod is not the be-all-end-all strategy. If that means redesigning overload champions so that they are chunkier but also stun in a more forgiving manner, so be it.
But the PvE meta is turning into woke guardians who think shadebinder (specifically bleakwatcher) and/or cuirass of falling star are the only solutions to endgame content. I can complete the content on any class using a variety of builds. Some are more difficult, but do not let what is essentially cheese become “Gjallarhorn or kick” of Destiny 2.
