Dear Bungie, I am an average player. Can you please help explain the ELO and lobby balancing problems I'm experiencing on Xbox? I am so demoralized. Here are some stats from within my own clan: Control ELO: TossesARose (me) - 790, bottom 5% KoolKat2U - 834, bottom 7% Vandallll - 2115, top 4.9% theCaseyi - 2061, top 6% Kill stats for past 160 games: TossesARose (me) - KA/D: 1.6 K/D: 1.01 KoolKat2U - KA/D: 0.6 K/D: 0.33 Vandallll - KA/D: 2.05 K/D: 1.51 theCaseyi - KA/D: 1.73. K/D: 1.31 HERE'S MY PROBLEM: -In this connection based matchmaking model, Bungie balances lobbies based off ELO scores. -Bungie has implemented a new "schoolyard" lobby balancing system, which is supposed to make teams even. With that in mind, I should be one of the LAST picked in this new they've rolled out. And if I'm the last picked, there should be 11 better players ahead of me...five of which are on my team. Unfortunately, my team consistently gets pummeled in nearly every lobby. Quite often I'm at or near the top of the leaderboard on the losing team while playing solo. As "technically" the worst player in the lobby, I'm consistently performing mid to top. But it doesn't matter...we always lose. I've won 67 of my last 176 games. Furthermore, mercies happen more frequently this season than I've ever experienced before. Sometimes they're just back to back to back. Mercy games aren't fun for anyone, win or lose. Clearly a symptom of a broken matchmaking/lobby balancing system. Back to my ELO question...how am I supposed to raise my ELO when the lobby balancing is so flawed? I've intentionally worked hard to improve my KA/D and K/D this season from 1.2ish/.08 last season to 1.5ish/1.0 this season. My ELO, however, has DROPPED. I feel like I'm stuck in a void, and there's nothing I can do to get out of it. My success is in the hands of lobby balancing, and routinely I am placed on a team destined to lose. I'm demoralized. I care so much, and have no control. What am I doing wrong? How can I get out of this cycle of bad lobbies? KoolKat2U (who we all love), has demonstrably worse stats than I have, yet STILL has a higher ELO. It makes no sense. I play most often with theCaseyi and Vandallll. In our lobbies, it's a tossup who will outperform who. They have stellar ELO's, and yet my ELO still is near rock bottom. Please help, offer advice...mainly, please just fix matchmaking and lobby balancing.
