I got Forsaken a few months ago, which I understand was pretty late, but from what I saw, it was the best DLC to get. The Chaperone was a weapon I was looking forward to, but was not able to get.
An issue I am having is getting Chaperone even though I have the previous quest (I am stuck on the step with elemental kills as it won't progress no matter what). I don't have Beyond Light and I don't plan on getting it, but I am quite disappointed to learn that I now need Beyond Light to get a new Chaperone quest instead of having it available for Forsaken.
I understand I am doing all this much later than most, but I am quite a casual player, just someone who likes to get on. I was excited to get the Chaperone as I am quite a fan of slug shotguns, but am stopped by the weapon being included in another DLC now. I think Bungie should have let both Beyond Light and Forsaken players access it if they wanted to change it (since it was a PVP quest if I remember), or let Forsaken players have access to the old quest.
Just wanted to hear some thoughts and see if there is any way to work around this.

Yeah that kinda sucks. The only way around it is probably to get beyond light. If you’re gonna play destiny for any period of time it’s probably worth it just to own the content you need to get the normal experience. If you’re enjoying destiny right now I’d say it’s probably worth it to just buy beyond light so you can play content that’s a little more relevant.
