We all love bottom tree hammers, middle tree Striker, and the bubble but does anyone main burning maul in pvp? I feel like it’s a few good tweak from being perfect. I would like for the spin to be taken away and replace it with the suncharge ability on top tree hammers. The slam could be slightly faster and fire tornadoes should pull you in if you jump above them. Do that and burning maul would be top tier.

Edited by l Xemnas: 6/5/2021 3:14:50 PMI used to use it occasionally. You need x2 stacks to one shot with fusion nades. Using the exotic arms tailored to fusion nades makes them explode on impact. You become a one shotting machine. Even hunters learn to fear your random bullshit throwing capabilities. It was fun for a while but then they nerfed the super to being some what bad.
-
Nope. Super is 💩 in pvp. Baby hammer is fun though. And neutral game is okay. But the other hammer subclasses are just better for pvp.
-
Main it? No but I do REALLY like it. The noise is makes it just... 🤤. Too bad the neutral game is bad and honestly the super is bad as well. I posted a full rework of the path months ago but it never gained any traction nor did I really expect it to.
-
No, but I do main top tree hammers
-
I main warlock but since last week switched to Titan just out of curiosity . I had no idea what to main I used burning maul for two days until I tried top tree striker, lol. My god shoulder charge is hilarious😂. Pissed so many people off on Cauldron map.
-
I do with dunemarchers. I just like having a throwing hammer thor.
-
They just need to give it the axe swings from D1
-
I wish the spin attack was reworked. its a maul for a reason, let Titans swing it like a real weapon. instead of a spin, light attacks should be similiar to sword strikes and cause small enemies to be flung backwards and explode while larger enemies to be staggered then explode. the ground slam attack should be more explosive and deal more fire damage.
-
It's good for mayhem.
-
I used it for the throwing hammer, that thing made me feel like Thor, lol. But I main Hunter. I like my cape.
-
So now that stasis is almost gone I am going to make a build with BM. When stasis was king it's just too slow. Now I'll give it a go.
-
People don’t want to use effort to get kills anymore lol

I absolutely love middle tree sunbreaker in general, However, in PvP it requires you to approach fights in a very awkward way and mostly ends up requiring you to run a cheese build to make it work (Unless you're an absolute god at PvP where pretty much anything works). The main problem with middle tree is that your power budget is basically all put into your throwing hammer, a very clunky and awkward tool to use. Very punishing if you make a mistake and not really rewarding unless you stack up and your build happens to compliment it. Let's say you're running wormgod caress, you get one kill by shooting someone then finishing them off with a quick hammer, cool, now for the next 5 seconds (Due to wormgod and roaring flames), your following hammers will 1 tap a guardian. Sounds great, right? Well, the issue is that after that first kill you have to make sure there's not many people near that person, and in case there are, that you manage to win the exchange with whatever, be it managing to reach the hammer to throw it, or just shooting them to death. Now here's the biggest issue. You kill someone with your hammer, or grenade, whatever you want. Now you have to retrieve the little shit and that usually means putting yourself in awkward positions where people can just shoot you, and in case you were low from the prior engagement, good luck healing yourself as you only get regen THE MOMENT YOU PICK THE HAMMER, meaning there's always going to be a window where you are vulnerable. The hammer isn't exactly consistent either, and if you miss, the animation takes long enough for a couple of shots to be fired before you can fire back, that's all time wasted when you could have just shot instead of risking landing a ranged melee. There's also the build with Ashen Wake where you combo your Fusion nades with hammers for cheesy 1 taps. But it has the same weaknesses, miss one or don't have enough stacks of roaring flames, and you can't 1 tap. Basically Middle tree Sunbreaker is just a fun subclass when you wanna spice your game a bit.

I see plenty run it. Especially after the stasis nerfs. Those tracking tornadoes are nuts
-
Saw a guy use it yesterday. Came at me and ate buckshot. I understood why people don't use it now.
-
I think datto might, whenever he's streams he's on mid solar
-
Heart of inmost light and middle tree can have some nasty damage to bosses.
-
Either that or make the spin attack ramp up the damage in pve so that it's actually viable
-
Edited by Ghostfire239: 6/5/2021 6:58:19 PMThe Suncharge ability from D1 was so cool, they should definitely replace the current spinning light attack, with that instead. The spin is not only weak as hell, but it just looks so stupid too. Suncharge would be a great replacement since it’s not only more effective, but also really badass
-
Nope, I suppress
-
I did in the past both in PVE and PVP, but now I main Stasis due to the Stat boosts I get from aspects.
-
It's fine. I've been mauled by it often enough. Don't judge a tree based on only it's super. The neutral game is usually stronger on weak supers and that's where you spend the vast majority of time.
-
the hammer brings dune archer charge with it so you can get some stupidly funny kills with it, and sometimes the supers tracking will pull a 90 around a corner, it’s allright there’s just better.

When I play my Titan in the crucible I only use Burning Maul. I can range bonk people with the throwing hammer and the bayblade fire line super is just fun to use. I wouldn't say the subclass is bad, it just feels worse compared to the other 2. I also play my Titan the way I play my hunter. I don't use top tree gunslinger for the super, I play it for the abilities. I guess for me the Burning Maul abilities are close enough to six shooter that switching between the 2 feels comfortable.

I haven't been my titan in over a year
