It’s bad enough the changes they made with the oracles but the toxicity and elitism of people in these lfg groups is unbelievable. My clan was short 2 guys so we ended up using lfg and found some people to fill the spots. These 2 guys said they had an Atheon checkpoint and ask if we could start there and they’d help us with the beginning parts after so we agreed.
Now this was our very first time in the raid learning everything and these guys had already played and made it to Atheon. So we start and their we a few mistakes but after a while we were getting the hang of stuff. All of a sudden these guys say um I don’t think we will get this done the damage isn’t enough. Now these guys were putting out similar to less damage than everyone else and were making mistakes as well. They just continued to be negative and no longer wanted to help anymore. It’s just ridiculous how people just don’t have the patience anymore to figure out where the mistakes lie, correct it and keep pushing. They rather be negative, create tension and anxiety. People want to beat the raid just as badly as these elitist pricks. Thus why raid should’ve stayed the same as it was in D1 and challenge mode should’ve had the changes.

I mean I would’ve left too

My issues with using LFG for endgame content is that when using the description for a listing and putting important information for the player joining a LFG post. (i.e. kwtd, be certain light level, fresh runs, speed runs, collectable runs, or teaching runs) Some players will disregard to read the description. I recently tried to run teaching raids in Vault of Glass with a clan buddy, and it was really frustrating trying to find players and then asking if they've completed it before and lie about it. Or players joining a kwtd listings and lie about it. It is really frustrating because I do find players that don't communicate purposely, or just flat out be toxic about not "one phasing a certain checkpoint" then leave. It would be really great if Bungie would implement a raid penalty to players that leave in mid raids for being toxic while not hurting those that get disconnected.

People are so bad it’s unreal. How is it difficult to call out the oracles where they spawn in Atheon? Why are people in my LFG group using witherhoard during Atheon? People weren’t even sniping oracles or shooting them with Xeno. Some people literally come into your squad totally clueless and it’s ridiculous. These mechanics are not that hard.

When you ask the wild for help, the help is usually pretty wild.

Stop being bad?

Bruh I lfg’d day 1 made it to Atheon no problem. Everyone was super chill n funny, full of British people calling everyone wankers, I loved it. Ran it with my clan, cleared in like 1,30min np. Lfg’d again to teach cleared in like 3-4hrs. Honestly oracles/Templar easy as hell. Like a 20min encounter for both max. And Atheon, don’t get me started, yeah, at first it was hard, get the mechanics down and he’s a joke.

She said she wanted to express herself so, I gave her a thumbs up
-
It’s because everyone doesn’t want to be a teacher/Sherpa. They just want to get the raid done.
-
Them lfg groups have been born in nuclear waste that’s how bad it is
-
I’m convinced that it’s an entirely different game if you have a consistent group of friends who you play with instead of LFG. I’m part of the former and we try to stay that way because of some... questionable results from LFG.
-
I wish my 5 best friends still playing this games which they give up since d2 year 1. And that’s why I never play raid again. 😢
-
Hahahaha Same old story, maybe it's Destiny 2 that is vile in itself! If i could i would run all PVE modes in SP, because of these facts. But in all seriousness, i do not think any Raid is worth more than 30min - 40 min tops! If you spend, no sorry, WASTE 1-2 hrs in a raid, people really need to get a life!
-
Bruh I joined 2 lfg groups last night. One started fresh and made it to gatekeeper in like an hour. Then people had to get off. I joined another group in 30 seconds to finish the raid. As long as your a little patient and not trash, you can do any activity on lfg

I was doing raids with a friend and another two guys (who were super chill and nice) and since we needed another two we put a post. One flawless title works and he’s really nice and caring. Then he mentions how his brother could join and us being foolish we agreed. Two times gilded flawless guy joins and tells us all the ways of how to do oracles, then the cheese. My friend wipes us once, then the gilded flawless guy wipes us twice on his own method of oracles. He was pretty snobby, nothing like his brother who was actually very kind. After two more attempts he leaves without a single word, starts the encounter just to spite us then leaves. His brother is silent, then whispers ‘Sorry guys, he’s going to get mad’ then leaves. Sometimes LFG is awesome, and then sometimes LFG was that guy.

Literally the only thing that mattered out of that story was We don’t have enough damage so they left. That’s literally a pro move. I would not waste hours of my life doing nothing. Why are you complaining lol you got a free boss cp

Between D1 and D2 I have over 800 raid clears. I don’t mind helping people learn, but I simply don’t have time for 3-4 hour raids. My wife and daughter get angry at me, and it can get very frustrating. I generally can tell within 15 minutes if a team will clear. A few things will lead to this: 1) Repeat deaths for the same reason. You need to own your game, evaluate what you did wrong, and solve it. If a Sherpa recommends a fix, do it. 2) Not enough boss damage. This is generally due to incorrect weapons, mods, or players not playing crisply and being confused / dead / late to the damage phases. 3) Too many adds remaining. You should always be shooting something or doing something to help your team. If I exit the portal into a swarm of 5 supplicants every time that’s not on me. 4) Gatekeepers Specific example. Can’t kill minotaurs / wyrens / gatekeepers quickly. If you can’t solo a gate or a confluxes please learn how, or your team will be there for a while. Raiding is end game, especially in the first week. Everyone needs to play well. You can’t expect people to drag you through.

When I put out lfgs I specifically say be patient or don't join. If we fail a few times and you are the type to get aggravated and leave then don't join. Only join if you are in it for the long haul.

Years ago, I posted on the forums: “ raid noob who has never raided before, but will try my best, looking for friendly low stress players to teach and lead me, and have FUN!! Got invited by a group of guys from across the country from me who all knew each other. They instantly became my best gamer friends ever. Starting with original VoG in D1 up til now...same crew. Still laughing and joking through the whole raid 7+ years later. So yea, good groups are out there. Try and find one, or try to be one, because it’s definitely worth it. And if you end up in a toxic group, leave immediately. It’s not worth staying.

Met this guy on lfg the other day, helped my team get to atheon after one of our guys had to hop off. Flat out screamed into the microphone every two minutes as I was attempting to sherpa my team and he comes in to bark orders and take control and all. He was really quick to get frustrated and verbally take that out on my team which wasn't a fun thing to watch as it was their first time running through it. However, when it came to atheons oracles, he always attempted to take the easier roles and claimed to be a sherpa himself, making it easier to blame my team. When it came time for him to call out he messed up so many times and blamed it on a bug and started snapping at me when I called out his mistakes. This is why I will now specify I want chill people instead of 'good' people.

Don’t be bad

Feel free to join my clan. We use discord and have people who raid.

I know. I’m dealing with many of the gatekeepers on another thread. I dared to suggest that the oracle changes were unnecessary and will mainly act to exclude newer players. And here we go. And how the “raiding community” here just lashed out with insults and insisting that I was only complaining because I “want it easy” (Never mind that I’ve done Atheon Challenge mode...on HARD...so no revives at all...in D1). They ironically proved my point in their blind haste to disprove and delegitimize it. Sad.

I cant state this enough: this is a bungie problem. The switch from D1 to D2 raids. Wiping mechanics, leaving behind a normal (easier) learning raid, and completely moving away from the excitement of hero moments (primarily the fun and exciting former raid element where one guardian can rise and save raids) killed lfg. Or at least the vast majority of that part of the community that sherpas raids and spent time helping teach strategy and mechanics and to a point carry guardians through these amazing gaming set pieces. It's too stressful now. It just is. And that makes tolerance for mistakes and wipes and swapping unacceptable in raid lfg groups. Either way. I recommend find a core group of people you like playing with and muscle your way through. Leave lfg alone.

I put kwtd or kick in my posts to scare the stragglers from joining. The kick part has been used a lot lately.
