Everything was perfect before Beyond Light, but it's gotten even worse.
When I try to log in, the game is slowed down and the little animations of the icons on the character select screen that are supposed to be subtle and quick take like 3 seconds and are choppy. The cursor jerks around affected in a similar fashion. The game takes any excuse to glitch out. Alt Tabbing frequently means a crashed game when I'd been doing it just fine for 3 years beforehand.
Loading into an area often means a crash or "reconnecting.." screen, especially if I tab out at any point. If I tab out at all at any point from launching the game to entering orbit, it will most likely not let me tab back in, and will instantly close itself (not even say it's not responding like usual) if I manage to tab back in.
Pic related regularly happens whenever I have my inventory open while loading into anywhere (who wants to stare at a loading screen? I should be able to manage my own freaking gear!)
I have a 1080ti and have almost always been able to maintain a perfect 4k 60fps. Now, I still get some issues with 2K. Also, not the same issue but the game constantly looks like I have my contrast turned up way way too high everywhere except Europa. This seems like a deliberate choice to try and make Europa "pop" more due to a lot of similar tones in colour, but it seriously hurts to look at.
ETA on fixing these issues? I wouldn't have bought Beyond Light if I knew it would be like this. I didn't buy this season due to them, and had considered buying the new season that drops tomorrow until I realised that the issues have actually gotten worse.
Edit: Verified integrity of game files, still nothing. Deleted the game entirely and reinstalled it on a fresh SSD, still nothing. It crashes every single time I try to load into the helm to see the fallen, without fail. Every single time.

there have been changes to your pc. maybe not hardware but definitely software. not only the game getting updated, but windows updates and driver updates for your hardware (you are running those right?). the loading into new areas issue you mention could be the hard drive can't retrieve the data fast enough to load it. maybe it's gotten too fragmented over time, try defragging the hard drive. do you have it on an ssd? it could also indicate some network issue of some kind. you threw a pretty broad net with the issues you mention but it's hard to point to bungie right away or more people would be having these same issues.
