Since many people have been starting to use #nerfstasis, I’ve decided to think of a way to balance out Stasis so it can be on par with the other subclasses on PvP. Note that if you like these changes, make sure to “smack that upvote button like ya mama taught cha right!” so perhaps we could get this close to Bungie. Any feedback would be also greatly appreciated.
Without further ado, here are some of the changes I visualize that would improve the state of Stasis in the Crucible (these changes would only apply to the PvP sandbox):
• Removed shatter damage from shattering frozen enemy guardians.
• Shatter damage will still be present upon shattering Stasis crystals (such as those from glacier grenades and the Behemoth super).
• Guardians won’t receive damage when breaking themselves out of Stasis.
• Removed Stasis breakout animation.
• Frozen guardians will now get out from Stasis the moment they receive damage from any source.
• Ally guardians will now be able to break their allies out of Stasis by shooting them with any type of weapon.
• Frozen guardians will now gain an overshield until they get out from Stasis.
• Frozen guardians will also gain moderate damage resistance until they get out from Stasis. This means that the only ways to quickly kill a frozen guardian would be through supers and most heavy weapons.
If you don’t want to read all this, in a nutshell, the main changes are:
• Removed damage when shattering frozen guardians.
• Damage from any source will instantly break someone out of Stasis.
• Frozen guardians will be tougher to kill. The only means to insta-kill them are through supers and most heavy weapons.
