Requires Season Pass Season of the Chosen.
When ever I would be at the Prismatic Recaster some of the choices under tier II or III Focusing would say “Requires season pass Season of the Chosen”. However some of them would simply say “Requires a specific season pass weapon or armor” that you claim from the season pass screen after reaching the required level. No where did it say before that the pass was required.
Now I usually wait until the last week of the season to claim my weapon and armor from the season pass. I just claimed them and went to the prismatic recaster and every choice under tier II and III Focusing is saying that it requires the season pass.
My friend (who I’ve played online with for at least 10 years) (who I know does not have the season pass) claimed his season pass weapons and armor right away during the beginning of the season and I asked him if the options under tier II and III Focusing was available to him and he said yes.
So why is it not available to me?
Why would it say that I just need the required season pass weapon or armor and not simply say that the season pass is required from the start?
Also at the bottom right it says I have 3 focuses available yet every option except the very first two under tier I says I need the season pass. The first two under tier I, I know doesn’t have a limit as I have always been able to focus as many as I wanted.
This isn’t the first time Bungie has lied and been deceptive with their words.
Apparently this is just another big 🖕🏻from Bungie.

Your friend must have misunderstood. Two of the Tier I, and all of the Tier II and Tier III require 'hammer charges' from the 'Hammer of Proving', I'm not sure if that gets given to non-season pass holders but you'd need the pass to accumulate the charges anyway. It is currency earned by Battleground completions. Your friend would not have been able to use Tier II or III focusing and unfortunately advised you incorrectly. The thing on Tier III is the weekly limit on how many times you can buy that level of focusing, not free credit. No other level has a lockout, you can keep buying them as long as you keep getting umbrals and hammer charges.
