At least for me, that is. In December of 2017 I was so frustrated I stopped playing D2 for about two years. Then I came back for New Light and had a great time, but I didn't buy shadow keep and when they deleted everything it prompted another break from the game. I was skeptical about beyond light and didn't get it until that fateful TWAB post where bungie said they were removing sunsetting and making a ton of other quality of life changes to D2. That day I immediately redownloaded the game and hopped into Season of the Chosen and Beyond Light for the first time, and since then I've been having a blast. The Deep Stone Crypt is great, the new Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit rewards are great, the seasonal story is super cool too. I'm genuinely enjoying the grind just like I did back in Rise of Iron, I have almost unlocked the Splintered title which has been an enjoyable journey. I've seen a lot of negative energy on the forums recently, (which is nothing new lol) which surprises me since the state of the game has vastly improved since I left. Yes, stasis has broken PvP, but when has PvP not been broken? It has always been like this since D1. There will always be some new weapon or subclass that is super strong, but it always eventually gets replaced with some new op meta. And I mean, cheaters in Trials? Thats like complaining that the sky is still blue lol. I think bungie is doing a great job all things considered and am proud of them for being able to make good quality content on their own. I really think it is hilarious how upset people are getting over nerfs, I mean, now that sunsetting is gone what do you expect bungie to do? Anyway thats my two cents honestly if anyone from Bungie sees this outstanding work you brought back a player who thought he would never return, now all you have to do is bring back SRL! >:D
you guys knew I had to sneak an SRL reference in there lol
Edited by Tulukaruq907: 4/14/2021 7:53:15 AMI enjoyed last season. I thought this season was boring by week 2. I hate the battlegrounds. After the first week I played just enough of them to do seasonal challenges and complete the seal for the season. The battlegrounds were unrewarding and unimaginative. The problem is if you do 9 you still only get 3 powerful rewards. Last season you could do 5 wrathborn hunts and get a pinnacle. Once you hit the hard cap the battleground rewards are irrelevant.
