I think new players who are jumping in, especially with friends, would benefit from having the Aeon exotics being given to them during the New Light campaign and here's why:
I believe the function of inspecting the mods naturally sparks the incentive to think about gameplay they're not used to toying around with yet. Silently challenging players who maybe are not so experienced with shooters to chain precision hits or even thinking about finishers more often (after playing with a couple of friends who are brand new to the game, I remembered it's a button we all took some time getting used to.) I feel they're a very non-toxic way of asking players to be more active in their gameplay and there's no way
Giving them a flat roll of +10 in each stat also (for a total of 60) removes the volatility of it being considered a bad roll and perhaps also causes the new player to notice the difference rather than the barrage of blues and purples with numbers that mean nothing to them yet.
I think the rework of the Aeon exotics were cool and can now fill this niche where newer/less skilled players can enjoy contributing to the team passively (or actively, depending on their mod choices) and explore those roles earlier with much more freedom.
I'm always happy giving new players fun tools to keep them playing. New Light is one of my favorite additions to this game and anything that enhances those earlier, more formative moments of the game is a win in my book.

Thats a good idea, players will want to team up with other new players and work together to try and make friends and try harder content for them. I love ideas like these
