The sun shines brightly and a cool breeze raises small waves, filling the air with salt.
The city docks are a melting pot of beings and vessels from throughout space and time. As a rust bucket starship lifts into the air, an old galleon of white wood pulls in and lays anchor. The crew of the Winter's Breath are a colorful assortment of folk, but the bulk of them are Sea Elves, their blue-green scales shimmering in the sun.
Their captain is one such Elf who goes by the name Scylla. A former pirate who has worked hard to distance herself from her past, especially her role in the Apocalypse nearly two years ago, by running supplies to the city and patrolling the coast. Despite her good fortunes she still dresses modestly as any other sailor and carries a simple pistol and cutlass.
As her crew offload cargo she swaggers down the street whistling a shanty. Aside from the hustle and bustle of the city, all is calm and quiet at the moment.
So what do?
Update
Among the crowd, a large woman cries out in pain and rage. Melinoe clenches her teeth as she tries to move, muscles swelling and sweat forming upon her brow, but an unknown force keeps her locked in place. The crowd parts to reveal Nil glaring at Melinoe, a web of blood magic between her fingers as she hisses a hex.
Without hesitation, Scylla draws her pistol. Blaze is quick swipe her arm, but she's quicker as she aims and fires at Nil. As the witch falls to the ground, the docks erupt into chaos as the crowd panics.
Melinoe, released from the hex, turns to them with a terrible grin...
Been awhile! Thought I'd do something small to get back into the groove of things as opposed to one of my month long Dungeon Crawls.
This was originally a story but I figured let's try something new!
Edited by Unseelie Nil: 4/3/2021 9:28:57 PMAs the sun begins to set, the docks return to their version of normality. Scylla and Nil sail away aboard the Winter's Breath, Melinoe is taken into custody, and Warlock Holmes has vanished through a portal, sealing it behind him. From a nearby storm drain watch several red eyes upon a scale covered face. "Intwesting, vewy intwesting!" The end I guess!
