The cloak is what makes or breaks an entire armor set for me. I have not been a fan of many cloaks that have released in D2. My favorites so far are: Memory of Cayde, the old ToO cloak (cloak of the exile), new monarchy cloak, and some of the crucible ones. As a Hunter main, I really do NOT like weird vertical half cloaks, cloaks with backpacks or radios, or anything that is destroyed or mashed together.
Hunters used to look so sleek and refined, and I miss those designs. Cloaks like "Strength of the pack" https://i.imgur.com/bXeNCEP.jpg

It's very hard to find anything in Destiny 2 like this, and it makes me really sad. The shading options we have in this game are so diverse even just a handful of these types of cloaks would be enough for me, especially with Transmog (aka Armor Synthesis). I would actually pay silver for these cloaks in a heartbeat. The moment I saw the cloak of the exile, immediately was asking people if they wanted to do trials. I only feel the need to post this message about cloaks, because for over 3 years I have not been very happy with the designs of them.
I do not mean anything against the artists. I definitely appreciate the variety that we have so that we don't have a bunch of cloaks that looks so similar. It allows people to enjoy a look they enjoy, but as a Hunter who does not want wires, radios, backpacks, half cloaks, rips, tape, just plain silky looking cloth, I don't like my cloak options.
There have been some complaints about Warlock Bonds not being diverse enough. I feel that hunters are having the opposite. We have cloaks that try to do too much.
And from what I can see Festival of the lost has more cloaks like we've already gotten. A cool design that fits a theme, but doesn't match anything that isn't part of the set.
I'm only asking for a few, once and a while, like this. Because we basically have NONE like them after over 3 YEARS of Destiny 2. The closest thing I think we have is "A Cloak Called Home" which still doesn't fit the aesthetic.
If people want their hunters to look like they just came out of the pits of hell, let them, but some of us want our cloaks to be pristine.

I agree D1 cloaks had a much more refined style to them, I even kept some Blues and Whites because I liked the design so much
