Since the other two Cosmodrome Strikes are back, and don't seem to have been reworked to make sense in the current state of Destiny, I took the liberty of rewriting them so they'd make sense. Sepiks Prime has been killed twice already and Rasputin is on a hard drive somewhere, so we need new reasons to go into these missions and new dialogue to go with them.
Devils' Lair
When you load in, Shaw Han tells you that Fallen from Europa have fled to the Cosmodrome and are holing up where the old Devils' used to Roost. Variks then chimes in, since he's the resident expert on Fallen politics, that these are dissidents from the collapsing House Salvation who have realized that Darkness worship is no substitute for Ether. They've been building a new Prime Servitor to feed off of and draw more to the region to bolster their ranks.
This explains why there's a massive Prime Servitor popping up out of nowhere as well as gives some depth to House Dusk, as it doesn't make sense for them to not have ANY leadership after all these years of hanging around. These are potential leaders that could unify Dusk, explaining why they're a threat and a strike team needs to be sent in. Rename Naksis, Devil Baron to [Blank], Dusk Baron to hint that House Dusk may be organizing around these new forces and need to be shut down. Rename the final boss from Sepiks to something else and boom, you have a simple and easy rework of the strike's story.
SABRE
Shaw Han tells you that House Dusk has been poking around the remains of one of Rasputin's old bunkers in the Cosmodrome since he's gone dark. Either Ana or Zavala can jump in and explain that there's too much valuable tech in those old bunkers that we can't let the Fallen get their hands on. Ana could even make a note about how she needs something from that bunker to help repair Rasputin.
Again, this explains why we're going in and who we're fighting. It also ties into the current plotline of Rasputin being brought offline, which is a massive catastrophe that kinda just got swept under the rug with Beyond Light. This one doesn't need as much weight as a Heavy Shank is not as threatening of a foe as a Prime Servitor, narrative-wise.
Conclusion
The hardest part of reworking these strikes is getting the voice actors back in the studio, probably, but
each of these characters has been used recently so it's not unprecedented. It's not like we're calling in Sloane or Failsafe or a high-budget actor like Ikora's Gina Torres after not using them for a while. Just replace a couple voice lines and the names of the bosses and it's fine. It's little things like this that would vastly improve the storytelling of the universe and revisit threads that are still active.
Anyways, I'm hoping someone at Bungie sees this and passes it along to the writing team. Y'all have done such a great job in the past couple years, I hate to see your talents go to waste by just reusing lines from years and years ago.
