I personally tried it and was super bored and never played it since
Wondering if anyone had the same opinion or some interesting insights :P

Never played it, Never will. It just doesn't interest me. ╮(─▽─)╭

I’m not really a fan of anime games. So I don’t know.
-
I can’t stand the way the game looks so I never even gave it a chance.
-
Overhyped and overrated. It’s a glorified mobile game with nothing different except that you can play it on console. Whoopdidoo, I can now waste money on another game where the only good heroes are less than 1% chance and there’re duplicate heroes so you’ll never get anything new after a certain point.
-
Too much anime or anime like. Also, NO GIANT AXES LIKE COME ON
-
I don't like weeb games.
-
Couldn't stand the stupid flying fairy so I quit lol

I like it quite a bit myself, ngl. Im currently AR lvl 49 so I'd say im just a bit experienced now. Its very, very grindy. Not quite warframe levels of grindy but it almost feels like it at times. It is a F2P game but its not F2P friendly at all, that cant be denied. Anyone who says that having characters like Diluc, Venti, Mona and other brokenly (is that even a word?) strong charachters doesnt make the game easier must never have played GI omal. That being said, it is possible to do all of the content with only starter/F2P characters but youre gonna get a massive headache from even trying that. And dont even get me started on the Gacha...oh dear lord, it hurts. 0.6% chance to get a 5 star and when you get one, its like a 1 in 15-20 chance you get what you want.

BotW wasn’t a super great game imo. It was okay, but just okay. F2P games tend to suck the fun out of games that’d otherwise be amazing. As I understand it, Genshin Impact is basically a F2P BotW, so I can’t say I have much interest in it. Okay game formula + fun draining payment sustem = probably not very good game.

Edited by Ion, Disciple of Melvin: 1/9/2021 3:05:21 PMHad fun for the <2 hours I played it. Very similar to BOTW, but can’t help but feel that there are some gacha aspects.

Edited by Sumpig-2: 1/10/2021 12:35:27 AMpersonally I love it (and I play mobile, so I need to stay by a charger) the fact it's a Gacha may discourage some folks, and thats reasonable. They value their wallets, or they think its gonna have some dumb gameplay.
Me? I hadn't really thought of playing it in my life! so why'd I get it? same as almost every game I play. the memes I found out Japanese Lisa makes funny exhaustion sounds, end of story, now I main with Lisa.
Now, you dont need to pay a cent to play this game, that's just for Gacha currency, which you can get as you play the game and do daily commissions, open chests, etc. Just gotta have patience, and save up. thoughts on other matters...
The story is opened through AR progression, thats fair, it keeps you paced so you dont blaze through it all. It gives you time to do side quests, events, and exploration speaking of exploration, these areas are huge, gosh dang. There's islands I didnt even know existed! and in terms of starter characters, the traveller is just my main since the Ameno ability is basically whatever element it touches, and Lisa is pretty good as well, especially when it rains or youre by water. absolutely wrecks groups. You get Noelle basically in the Gacha tutorial. she is a Tank, a DPS, and a Healer. s o , u m , y e a h . Amber may suck, but thats cause she's a bow character. its a given. basically, you can just use these. turn to Gacha if you want the waifu bait or Klee In terms of leveling up, its basically a grind for resources. nothin new. (given what forum we're on...) With difficulty, yeah, every world rank up might make enemies tougher, but remember: you can multiplayer! sometimes one can forget that this isn't a solo only game. and if you dont want to play with people... yeah thats reasonable, tough it up.

what I find nice, or at least interesting, is that MiHoYo used a lot of anime VA's... heck, an upcoming character, Hu Tao, is voiced by Japanese Megumin and English blue haired Ram. effective business strats, cause they got me saving up.
oh and, the music is just, BEAUTIFUL you could SLEEP to most of them. Qingxi Mountain's background music makes you want to idle in the middle of no where. and its not like youre too busy to hear it, this is exploration music. even then the boss music is also pogs. -- id say dont give up on it yet, maybe take a break every now and then sure, but its a fun game thats still growin, so of course theres gonna be rough patches, but also things to look forward to. oh yeah, and its doing pretty well for a Chinese Gacha game...

botw with waifu bait

I play it practically daily, I find it pretty fun even as someone who hasn’t spent any money on the game. It gets pretty grindy at later levels though.
-
I like the gameplay and story but I’m not too big of a fan of the story getting locked behind adventure rank and the way you get new characters. But, for a free to play game I’d say it’s really good.
-
Edited by kerrick2: 1/9/2021 10:40:33 PMIt was ok till stuff to do was getting locked behind adventure rank which I found extremely slow to fill up by playing what and how I wanted to play
-
Its overated imo
-
I had the same experience, overall it felt super slow. Just didn’t really grab my attention.
-
I enjoyed it but not a fan of gacha games. That said, you don't really need anything the game doesn't automatically give you outside end game content.
-
i love weeb games and play a gacha game daily, so this should have been one of my main games. didn't stick because the combat wasn't very interesting or challenging, also no button reassigning for controller. too much of the begining is running to places and talking to npcs and i never played it again
-
I won't be playing it but I'm glad it doesn't have completely trash advertisements like most anime products do. The only ad I don't like hearing is the "I aM cHi Chi" one. The others don't gnaw my brains while waiting for the 5 seconds.
