I'll be working on the updated versions of chapters 1 through 3 in the background, I'll work on them when I'm not writing new chapters.
If you're wondering, I did include Lake Livingston as I did enjoy my short trip there, even the injuries. Carried a sense of adventure into the unknown.
Chapter 5: Amnesia
Part 1: Peace
Lake Livingston, Texas
Nova paced along the shore of the lake. The water was calm, like death. She sat along the bank and dipped her feet in the water. It was the middle of summer; she longed for the biting cold.
Nova closed her eyes and thought of her siblings.
"My brothers and sisters, I'll see you again one day."
The sounds of the water faded as she drifted off to sleep.
She dreamt of a lush valley, filled with life. She strode through the valley; each step leaving a print in the grass.
A faint rumble emanating from the sky grew louder, but she brushed it off.
Part 2: Strike
Livingston Crash Site, Texas
[j]A loud crash thrust her back into the real world. The ground was covered in ash; the sky a smoky grey. She coughed as the smoke filled her lungs.
Nova reached for a small rock on the ground. She held it in her hand and closed her eyes.
"Gori od besa."
The rock burst into flames, and she threw it forward. It exploded on impact; illuminating a large metal object.
Nova walked forward and inspected the object. She estimated it to be about 120 ft tall, wedged in the ground at an awkward angle. She pulled out a small hologram. A man wearing a bandana appeared on the hologram.
"Nicholas, do you know what this is?"
"Yup, looks like a ship. At least, a piece of a ship."
"Thanks, I'll check it out."
She put the hologram back in her pocket and punched a hole in the hull of the ship. She found multiple of the King's lieutenants, dead on the floor.
Part 3: A Shocking Discovery
The Bridge, Crashed Ship
Nova walked down a long hallway. She found more bodies, but one of them stood out. She recognized that armor.
She kicked the body, and it moved. It stood up and turned around.
"Wait, but that doesn't make any sense." Nova said, shocked.
She paced closer. It looked at her, confused.
"Where am I? Why am I here?" It asked.
Nova was at a loss for words. It didn't add up. The King shouldn't have been there.
"Why are you here? You're not supposed to be here, not now."
"I am not aware of that, as I don't how I got here."
"Let me try to remind you. You are a King of dark legion, you were supposed to remember what I taught you."
The King didn't answer. He collapsed, the visible dent in his helmet suggested a crash. She scooped him up, and brought him to a cryo-pod.
