[spoiler]I changed the chapter's title lol[/spoiler] Rogue scanned his surroundings. The van was occupied by two guards, both armed. A high-pitched whine could be heard from somewhere below the van. It was the only noise the entire ride. Some time later, the van stopped. The doors were opened and Rogue was ushered out. Suddenly, the whine grew louder. The guards fell to the ground, unconscious. Then the whine came to an abrupt stop. And the van exploded. The blast knocked Rogue onto the ground. He rolled over to see a man made of fire rising from the ground. The man was laughing. "Boom." He said, and laughed again. "Oh, that was fun." He turned to face Rogue. "Ah, you again. It's been a while." "I don't even know who you are, let alone what." Rogue said, standing up. "You shouldn't. But I know you. I was responsible for the accident." The man said. "What are you talking about?" The man just smiled and raised his fist. A ball of fire appeared in his hand. He threw it at Rogue. Rogue ducked, separating his hands as much as he could, and the fireball went straight through the chain connecting his handcuffs. "Clever. But that won't do anything to help you." The man taunted as he threw another fireball. Rogue ran clear of it and threw part of the destroyed van at him. It melted into molten slag the moment it made contact with him. "Pathetic." The man thrust his palm at Rogue, and a beam of fire burst from his hand. Rogue would never be able to dodge it in time. He prepared to die. Suddenly, a pillar of stone erupted from the ground. "Dammit!" The man yelled. A man appeared next to Rogue. A cat was next to him. "Run while you still can. Alvin will guide you to somewhere safe." The man said. A staff appeared in his hand. Before Rogue could ask anything, the man rushed past the stone pillar. The cat meowed at him and started walking away. Rogue sighed. "This day is just getting wierder and wierder." He muttered to himself as he started after the cat.
