Rogue's ears rang. He could feel a dull pain in his left leg. Around him, the remains of the warehouse burned. Here was lying against a wall. Voices yelled commands somewhere behind him. He's tried to stand, and failed. His leg was injured. A gun was leveled in front of him. He looked up to see a soldier standing in front of him.
"Get up." He ordered. "You're under arrest for arson." Rogue managed to stand. The soldier put some handcuffs on him and led him to an armored vehicle and shoved inside. The doors slammed shut, leaving him alone.
Ten Minutes Earlier
Rogue had thought this was a job. But It had been a trap. He crouched behind a pile of crates, bullets whizzing past him. Rogue wasn't sure if Nine's source was bad, or whether he intended to kill him. Right now, none of that mattered.
What mattered was getting out alive.
Rogue was supposed to steal a weapons shipment. The warehouse was supposed to be vulnerable, with little security. Instead, Rogue was met with two dozen armed men. Now Rogue was caught in a firefight where he was outgunned and outmanned. Rogue prepared to peek out from behind his cover to fire...when the entire warehouse went up in flames. The walls seemed to be made of fire. But nothing happened. Nothing collapsed. There was no smoke. Then the warehouse was destroyed in a giant explosion, and Rogue's vision went black.
