Here's the thread of forum posts about this issue, made weekly since Beyond Light was released: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/257806679/0/0
As the title says, it's been 1 month — actually longer at the time of writing this post — since Destiny 2 has been unplayable on PS4 Remote Play due to the controller mapping bug. PS5 players are no longer reporting this issue, but it is still affecting PS4 players — the majority of people playing on PlayStation since the PS5 is so difficult to acquire.
In the past week, there have been 2 hot fix patches, yet neither of them have addressed this issue.
Thankfully, the issue is now once again being mentioned in TWAB posts. Although this is a silver lining, the problem still persists, and now that the Holiday season is approaching it seems unlikely that there will be a resolution to this situation until 2021.
I'm not sure what to say anymore other than making these weekly posts, hoping that this increasingly frustrating situation will be resolved soon.
UPDATE:
So it appears that this will be addressed in an update in mid January. Here's a link to the source of this information: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/257886999/0/0
Looks like nobody who is being affected by this issue will get to enjoy Destiny during their holiday break. That being said, the devs absolutely deserve a holiday as well and shouldn't have to work through it to fix this. However, the amount of time that it has taken to address this while batches of other, far less significant issues got fixed much sooner makes this situation even more frustrating. This should have been a priority that was fixed 2 weeks after Beyond Light was released, at the absolute latest.
