Title.
I have weird hands, and I need to have back paddles on my controller in order to play a three dimensional game such as Destiny, without experiencing pain.
I was one of the few lucky ones to receive a PS5 on the day or release here in Europe, and it’s been a blast with the loading times and lag completely gone.
However, Sony has disabled the ability to use PS4 controllers on NEW PS5 games. This severely hiders the ability to play the game to its full potential, since so much in this game relies on jumping and having a good three dimensional movement. And on top of that, my hands start to seriously hurt after a while of playing without paddles, because of the constant switching from the stick to the buttons. Paddles help with that.
Destiny is not a new game per say, but games like CoD: Cold War have taken away the ability to use the old controller with the next-gen update. I wish that this wouldn’t be the case for Destiny, as it would hinder the whole game.
So please Bungie, don’t disable old controllers in the new version coming out in December.
Thank you.

I really agree with what you’re saying but whether we wanted it or not, we stepped into the war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s start taking out their command, one by one...
-
Or just don’t buy shitty consoles.
-
Use a Cronus zen, you can connect any controller or keyboard mouse But I don’t no if it’s compatible with ps5 at the moment Hope it helps
-
Lol take it up with Sony 🤷♂️
-
That's mostly on Sony, not Bungie.
-
I have the same issue...I tried using the ps5 controller in destiny 2 but I’m so used to the scuf impact that, to me, is unthinkable to play without a scuf...will it work when the ps5 version releases ?
-
Tbh it would be daft not to use the duelsense to its full why buy a ps5 to just use old tech when they could do so much more with heptic feedback and that
-
Agreed. I primarily use the PS5 controller but it’s nice to have a PS4 one still on standby. Make it happen Bungo.
-
I wish Sony was more like Xbox Everything on last gen should work on current gen. PS4 controller>> ps5 controller
-
The consoles just came out. PS5 scarcity or not, the gaming industry tends to give a few years of leeway to allows people to move to next gen before they start phasing the prior gen out. You shouldn’t have to worry about this for a long while.
-
Sony disabled PS4 controllers on the PS5? damn, sorry to hear that.
-
Destiny is a ps4 title so therefore a ps4 controller will always work on it bud
-
Luckily my old xbox controller will still be use able. No scuff No elite Nothing new. Just a controller that's wired, see through and has Led lights.

Edited by Majin_Buu91: 11/27/2020 6:04:39 PMSo you’re saying they’re trying to get the scuff controllers gone from the games? But doesn’t the PS5 have back paddles on the controller? Don’t want to be a troll or saying you’re lying about your hands but i see a lot of players concerned they can’t use their precious scuffs anymore on next gen, which I don’t believe will happen... they will make new scuffs for PS5 Xbox because pro players.... Btw i jump with L1 on the PS4 controller since the jetpack CoD’s so my hands don’t start hurting as you say.

I agree bungie shouldnt take away the support considering the game doesnt need any of the ps5 controllers new features. But i would start looking at finding a ps5 controller eith the paddles asap because i wouldnt be surprised if in a year alot of games wont work with ps4 controllers. Stupid i agree but itll probably happen.
-
Yes I agree. Ever since I got paddles I could never go back to not using them again. Sony just released the back button Dual Shock 4 attachment last year. They should make a ps5 version of that ASAP.

Guess you should have bought an Xbox or buy a new controller?
