I get it, it sucks monolithic dick. It's always been the same, every expansion I can remember has resulted in a queue.
The position in the queue means absolutely nothing, it will have a one number and then jump by about 50% of that number.
We all see it, it happens to us all, even the streamers people seem to think get preferential treatment. If there was much they could do about it I'm sure they would.
Again, it sucks but its par for the course, can we all just calm our tits with the posts, you cant see anything of value (a rarity already) on the forums for the same posts.
Can someone please remember to prewarn everyone prior to the next dlc just so there isn't this uproar like it wasnt expected.
Tbf if bungie had just made a few tweets or mentioned in the twab that it was gonna happen it would have helped the newer guardians. I dare say even creating a priority queue for those who pre ordered and the order they did it would be fair, first 1000 people straight at launch next 1000 5-10 minutes later (adjust figures to whatever would be realistic to server loads, I have no clue). For people like me who pre ordered early but don't necessarily get on until 3 hours after launch have the option to delay their slot and some lucky duck gets a bump up the list. F2P players have to wait until the Wednesday. Pre make the queue so of you try to log in 10 minutes prior to your slot you see a timer and upon it hitting 0 it logs you in, so that people can load up and just leave it waiting.
Managing the communities expectations is the real fault here, I imagine a lot of people would have been less frustrated if they knew they weren't gonna get in bang on launch time and their slot was an hour later.
