Hey guys, long time member of Bungie.net here. Today i've come to share a theory I have about the Darkness and Pyramid ships. I have a video on the subject here: [url]https://youtu.be/OfRNRqtddVA[/url] It is my belief that the Pyramid ships are using the contact sites across the sol system, to attract the attention of the various factions, and to provoke them into conflict. So that they can, wait for it, harvest the soul essences of all those involved. Sort of mirroring the biblical parallel in which Jesus, and his angels which in the parable are called Reapers, are prophesized to come to reap the souls of mankind, and to winnow mankind, sorting out the souls of the righteous and unrighteous, weighing the hearts of men. While you might be skeptical of souls existing in Destiny, I believe there are a few sources that establish that a sort of soul does exist and that they fit the science fantasy spirit of the franchise. The Ether that fires out of a Fallen when it perishes is said to be a soul. We also saw a similar dispersal of energy coming from us in the beginning of The Red War when we lost our Light. The Hive are said to have ascendant souls. So basically the idea is that one of the overarching goals of the Pyramid Ships and/or the Darkness is to harvest the soul essence of all life in the galaxy, or to prompt something else to do the same. And the basic nature of the final shape the Darkness is hoping to achieve at the end of the universe is that it will be an entity - a compound intelligence, that contains a record of all life in the cosmos. And then the Darkness and/or the final shape could possible use Clarity Control to reverse, stop, or escape the dying universe. One of the reasons I believe this is that a little overlooked statement in Truth to Power seems to concern the nature of the final shape. "Life arises. Life spreads, contests itself, and changes. Great things are built and destroyed, but from your vantage point, you see that the victor of each struggle contains—in its negative, in the marks left upon it by the loser and the shapes it assumed to win—the master record of all that it has beaten. Information may not be erased. Whatsoever survives until the end of the cosmos will possess and remember all which came before it." That last sentence mirrors many of the texts concerning the final shape. This in turn could possibly explain why the Pyramid ships claims to be our salvation. The universe will inevitably die. The final shape and the Darkness has the means to escape or survive that death. The final shape has to be a ruthless Sovereign so that it is never usurped by the chaotic evolutionary conflict of the universe, overthrown by its creations, or defeated by a different foe. Its goal is to create an unkillable entity, to shepherd the record and memories of all life in perpetuity. "LOW-ENTROPY STATE COME TO BE? In the first place and the first time- the egg of history? What if Clarity was responsible? What if there was some primeval chaos, some pre-cosmic entropy, which was soaked in Clarity to reduce it to that first nucleus of all existence which issued the Big Bang? What if Clarity's defiance of time-reversibility makes it a fountain of cosmic youth, returning all that is burnt out and burnt down to its state before the fire? Perhaps Clarity is the Ein Sof, the nameless god .before creation. Preparator of the cosmic egg. Razor that cuts the fat of complication away from the bone."
