New Expansion Purchase: Does it link across consoles like the seasons did for cross-play?
Hey there, I really want to either be talking to someone who knows confidently or someone from Bungie.
My first questions:
Do I have to purchase Beyond Light on both consoles? Or will one purchase be the end? Will the seasons still translate like prior as well?
Second Set:
IF Beyond Light cannot be spread across consoles.
-- Do the seasonal purchases(the "pass") that come along with the Deluxe Edition still translate across platforms?
-By this, I mean that because the seasonal purchases are linked to the console-specific
purchase(you buy the pass with the expansion in the deluxe edition), will my season pass be
restricted to that console as well? Or will it translate across platforms still?
That should be all! I just really need to know what I'm purchasing and where it will be available when I do.

1 ReplyAccess to the licensed expansions (Forsaken, Shadowkeep, Beyond Light) are tied to the platform where they are purchased. Season Passes are accessible to all platforms through Cross Save due to the fact they are classified as in-game Silver purchases.

1 ReplyEach platform has their own licenses for the DLCs, so no, your purchase on one platform does not grant you a license on any other platforms. Season passes, however, are different because they are in-game purchases. That means if you use cross save, and your cross-saved characters have season pass access, they will have that access regardless of what platform you use them on.

When you purchase DLC, you are purchasing a license to use the software on that platform—it gets associated with your platform, not your Bungie account. [/quote] If you're talking PS4->PS5, you should be fine. If you're talking PS to Xbox (for example), then the above applies. Hope this helps!
