Day 31: Your Choice
Ash Parth arrived in the fields of Io to see the Pyramid Ship that is still hovering over the surface. Reminding him of the Tree of Silver Wings which he decided to go there, which later on he fought off Nokris again and send him back to his grave. Hopefully for Parth, Nokris would be gone but he is sure that necromancer will be back again one day.
As Eris Morn deciphers the message from the Darkness, Parth decided to have some breathing room and going over what he'd been through from the days of when he was raised from the dead and became a Guardian and meeting Dusk, giving each other names. To seeing some good people, and few bad apples. Met some allies he can rely on and even made the Clan where they call themselves brothers/sisters-in-arms. Met someone he found pure love.
Went through many stages of hell from the loss of loved ones and brothers from the Red War. Killing off anyone who gets in his way like a specter of the damned. Claiming himself as damned when the Guardians turned sour and turned their back on their own. But the least there are few he can still trust from the old days to today even some new people he made contact with.
In the rare cases when fighting his demons and finding the unreachable redemption, he continues to fight against the Darkness even if he were to have a choice to turn more dark as he was already.
Dusk checked on Parth and asked, "You alright? You look like you have plenty on your mind. Was it something Eiji said?"
Dusk wasn't wrong and Parth was thinking over the same words Eiji had told him.
Calling himself as who he is. A mercenary for both Guardians and non-Guardians. A protector within the shadows. No matter how many others say just to spite him, he handles the haters like he tells them to piss off if they bully those less fortunate.
Parth stands up and looks over Tara's wedding ring in thought while repeating Eiji's words the other day.
"Nothing much, Dusk," Parth admitted with a calm tone. "Tell me, would you not care if you deal with your own kind to protect those who are less fortunate and can't defend themselves?"
Dusk was almost shocked to hear that from his Guardian and answered, "You always do what you can. The world is going more crazier as it moves forward. We move forward whether we deal with the bad or join them. If it were up to me, we do better. I know you do better, Ash Parth, and why I'm glad I chose you as my Guardian."
After hearing that, Parth looked at Tara's wedding ring again and places it below his armor and he and Dusk did a thing where they bumped fists but all Dusk can do to do so was to headbutt gently while Parth does it normal even gentler so he doesn't hurt his own Ghost.
"And glad you are the Ghost that leads between the Light and Dark of everyday," Parth said. "Not gonna lie, if Tara and the rest of the Crow's Nest hear this, they'd tell me that I've grown up at last. I know I am grown up and will fight whether it'd be my kind or the egomaniacs or the Darkness. Even with the small circle of comrades we have here."
Dusk was acting joyful after hearing those words. "Would it mean you'd plan to revive the Crow's Nest with this little small circle of comrades, Parth?"
Parth rubbed his chin thinking that it wouldn't be a bad idea but...
He shrugged only answering, "Who knows. It'd be odd to rebuild with the brothers/sisters-in-arms not around anymore. But who knows. One day. Not now. Not tomorrow. Who the hell knows, Dusk. We just keep fighting and protecting. That's as simple as that."
Dusk sounded joyful of hearing that.
Parth and Dusk went back to their ship and they'd flew at light speed back to the Tower to figure out what to do next.
For now, until next time, space cowboy. Maybe even Beyond the Light.
