On a cold, autumn day in OffTopic, reconstruction was booming. New sea walls and houses dotted the port after the Leviathan's attack, and on the other side larger, thicker walls were being erected for defense of the city. Despite the harrowing attacks and frost covered ground, the work continued.
However, several workers and fisherman by the docks noticed an eerie disturbance. Rough waves suddenly appeared in the bay, then shifted, as if something large had just been displaced. Ready for the worst, the workers quickly evacuated, but no attack came.
The waters settled, and all was peaceful once more.
A few hours later port authorities investigated, sending out boats and submarines. On the seafloor they found scrapes of a ship being dragged in the mud and a few remains of the sunken ship. The trail showed it had been shoved out of the harbor and off the continental shelf, deep into the depths below. The subs detected a psychic static spike, then suddenly fade, likely from the drop.
Whatever it was, a great evil was out of their watch, and likely out of reach. The boats headed back to shore, and the disturbance barely noted a spot in the newspaper.
It was only a small disturbance...
