Hello guardians!
So as we all know, weapon retirement is coming to the game. While this is a very controversial topic, I am not here to say whether it should or should not happen. Rather, I am here to speak about a creative approach to dealing with weapon retirement of two specific guns: Drang and Mida Mini-Tool.
For people who don't know what makes these two weapons so special, these two weapons are legendary weapons that pair with exotics to boost the effectiveness of the exotic. Drang, and Drang (Baroque), give Sturm an overcharged round upon kill and Mida Mini-Tool, and Calus Mini-Tool, give an extra mobility boost to the MIDA pairing. The problem with these two weapons is that they are legendary and are, thus, susceptible to weapon retirement.
Well, instead of just reissuing the weapons on a yearly basis, I think that something else can be done to create longevity for these two weapons in the future.
In Destiny 1, there was a perk called "The Life Exotic." This perk was found on all of the faction-specific exotic class items in the game and allowed you to equip the exotic simultaneously with another exotic. Using this perk, I believe that Mida Mini-Tool and Drang should be brought forth as exotics with "The Life Exotic" perk. I don't propose that they have some unique exotic perk, but rather, I believe they should possess a basic perk tree similar to their original inception (i.e. Drang would have a perk like rampage and Mida Mini-Tool could have something along the lines of moving target, even though the original had no true perk.). Because exotics aren't being retired (for the time being), this would be an excellent decision IMO to deal with the reinstatement of these two partner weapons.
As always, this is just my opinion and if you have a different opinion, feel free to leave a comment!

Very good topic, u can even argue that the sturm is nothing without the drang
