Panicking, lungs screaming for air, submerged within a dark ocean of something too thick to be water that tastes like the reek of decay. A faint red light shines far in the distance and Acro swims towards it, chest burning and darkness creeping at the edges of his vision.
Eventually he collides with something hard, a small crack appearing between him and the light. With no time to think, Acro slams his fists into the barrier again and again, until finally it shatters. He climbs through the breach, coughing up the foul, black liquid and catches his breath.
Taking in his surroundings he sees...nothing. The still surface of the dark ocean and the black sky above merge to form an empty, endless void. Empty, save the source of the red light above, a massive serpentine eye.
As Acro gazes into the eye, a deep rumbling reverberates around him, pulsing like laughter. Acro reaches out to charge Astral energy, but to his horror discovers he is unable to.
The eye moves, circling downward. More eyes open along the path it takes, hundreds of them in varying sizes that faintly illuminate the black scales of it's form.
Acro drops to his knees and searches for the breach he had created, but it is gone. The laughter stops as the serpent slides into the dark ocean and coils around him. The foul ichor evaporates into a shadowy mist on contact, the many eyes creating an eerie red haze.
For a moment everything is silent, then a small splash in the dark, followed by another, closer, the wet footfalls of something approaching. A familiar Elven woman emerges from the haze, empty eye sockets weeping wisps of shadow that wreathe her pale body. She smiles as she shambles towards Acro with unnatural, stuttering steps.
Acro is paralyzed with fear as she stops before him. She tilts her head and a trickle of dark ichor pours out of the corner of her mouth, then she gurgles two words that fill his heart with terror...
"...Hello...darling..."
