Behind the decorations and masks and candy, the Festival of the Lost is a holiday of the Last City where we celebrate the lives of those that we have lost. We cherish their memory and embrace death, putting aside our regret and sorrow to let the enemies of humanity know we are not afraid.
The Solstice of Heroes celebrates the glory and triumphs of Guardian heroes -including the ones that gave their lives for humanity. The City happened to be celebrating this holiday when Ghaul attacked, adding to its significance as we remember the loss of countless heroes during the Red War.
Lost & Found dives into the deeper meanings of Destiny’s holidays and the tragic deaths of Lightbearer heroes, told through the experiences of two Guardians who know what it’s like to lose friends. This story first began with a chapter posted for the Festival of 2019, introducing our first character. Following along with Destiny 2’s timeline, the second chapter was released during the Solstice of 2020 to introduce our other protagonist. And now for the Festival of 2020 the two stories come together to continue the tale.
