I’ve seen how long it takes to design entire landscapes and dimensions in mods from scratch (which are on a far much larger scale than this update) and it takes about 6 or 7 months total. This update will probably come next year given the Nether update snapshots lasted basically that long. The most embarrassing part of this is that these are teams of 2 or 3 for the most part and it takes them that long vs qualified well versed in coding and most importantly, a large amount of workers. But Mojang can do no wrong I guess. I hope one day they massively -blam!- up like Yanderedev and people begin to point out their horrific update speeds.
