TL;DR
I can't change my PSN account from a UK one to an AU one, so looking at how I can un/relink my Bungie account instead to move my playing data to the AU PSN account. I think Cross Save might help?
Context
I'm playing Destiny 2 on PS4, with my PSN being setup while living abroad in the UK, but had to move back to AU. UK payment details are no longer valid, and figured let's get my account in order and migrate everything to AU account details (sensible so far?). I'm aware of Sony's Game Sharing feature, and will be utilising that for actual software usage, however want to main on my new AU PSN account (and do things like pre-order Beyond Light).
Sony doesn't allow for region changes, so now I'm looking into whether I can utilise something like Destiny's Cross Save functionality to migrate/transfer my playing account from my UK PSN account to the newly created AU PSN, and keep my 3 years' worth of Destiny playing data.
Idea
If Bungie allows for transfer of account links without it then awesome, but if not, could I do something like:
- Activate Cross Save
- Add a Goole Stadia account to my Bungie/Destiny account (and make it my main platform - or however that works)
- Unlink my UK PSN, with my playing data being maintained on Stadia
- Relink my new AU PSN, and change back to PSN as my platform main
Would this work? Am I at risk of breaking something and/or losing my playing data? Is this transfer even possible? Or do others have better suggestions? Please help? :)
Thanks,
Aussie expat that wants to keep playing Destiny 2 well into Years 4, 5, 6 and beyond, but only under one local (AU) account

This will not work. Once you cross save you can’t remove any accounts, and if you deactivate cross save your PlayStation characters will go back to only being available on your original PlayStation account.
