Where is Our New Golden Age?

This is something I've been asking myself since probably Forsaken. I've been wanting "The Light" to do something Big storywise that absolutely changes everything about the game. Since the original Destiny Beta. Didn't happen in original Destiny. In Destiny 2 after the Red War when the Traveler woke up, Zavala said something about how, "We are entering a NEW GOLDEN AGE..." A new Golden Age... A new Golden Age... Wait a minute... Did we actually enter a new Golden Age? Did we? DID WE??? We got two side stories after this, (Curse of Osiris and Warmind). Why? I mean it would have been fine if that was leading to the big Golden Age reveal in the next big DLC. But did we get that? Did we??? No we got what; if everyone really thought about it they would have to admit, was another side story called: Forsaken. It was a good side story and their was plenty to do in it. But as far as a story narrative... It was just another side story. But it; in hindsight, did point to something Bungie was potentially getting at... They don't know how to write a story that gets us to the NEW GOLDEN AGE, that's been hinted at in the past, that we were supposed to get one day. Bungie showed they literally have no idea what the original concept of "The Light" is supposed to represent and what it should accomplish as we move forward in the narrative. It was obvious as they decided to make us go on a revenge side story in Forsaken, instead of giving us the new Golden Age. Forsaken is basically a story where we tread on a thin line between Light and Darkness. Because Bungie was hinting about turning away from "The Light" and going towards "The Darkness" all along. Fast forward past some more side stories and enter Shadowkeep... A story that sort of focuses on the main narrative finally... A main narrative that further reveals that Bungie doesn't know what to do with "The Light" and the new Golden Age that we are supposed to already be in. Instead it's "The Darkness" in the form of a Pyramid ship and we get a scene where "The Darkness" is telling us that it's actually "our salvation." This is what we get instead of getting the Golden Age that we should have already begun enjoying. Fast forward past some side story live event stuff and we get the news that our next big story is happening in Beyond Light and afterwards. And it is all "Darkness" related stuff. Including a possible expansion title called Lightfall, coming in 2022. Wait... What? What about the dang Traveler??? He's still floating above the Last City. Apparently awake and spinning about... How are we going to lose SO BADLY that we lose our "Light" again? This is my biggest problem with Bungie. They are unable to write the story that we always thought we were going to receive. In Beyond Light we are apparently "embracing The Darkness." Why? Because Bungie can't figure out how to write a good story around "The Light?" I don't want to "embrace the Darkness" I want to finally beat "The Darkness." Or at least chase it the heck out of our solar system. Bungie... Light is Good. Dark is Bad. Why can't you get this? I want to win over "The Darkness" over the Bad, while staying in "The Light" on the side of Good. And get the second Golden Age finally going. How would we do this? What would it look like if we did this? Some people probably think if we hit the second Golden Age that would mean the end of Destiny as a game. Surprise! It actually wouldn't. Instead of losing to "The Darkness" and evacuating planets like we are now. We would actually use "The Light", kick their tails, and make them evacuate instead. (Even though we shouldn't even be having this problem because the story should have never went in this direction in the first place.) Then basically the Traveler starts transforming our planets and we actually start building new cities everywhere in the solar system, except maybe Nessus. (Which could still have enemies.) That's when the next big expansion would change everything, finally. We would actually fast forward in time a decade or two. And the new expansion would pick up in this future time. Our whole solar system would be filled with glorious new cities that we could visit, most of the old destruction has been cleaned up, and almost everything would be under our control. That's when we realize it is our job to spread "The Light" to stars far away and free different solar systems from "The Darkness." And that's what we would start doing, taking a slight page out of Dead Orbit philosophy and going out to colonize the galaxy. That's the story we could have had. The story we should have had, at least after the Red War and Zavala's "We've started a new Golden Age" statement that happened after we beat Ghaul and The Traveler had awoken. And now you know why I'm frustrated with Bungie. With the direction they are taking us. Far far away from the original story writer's intentions. Last time I checked when you turn on a light the darkness goes away. Darkness is the absence of light. But apparently no light exists in Bungie's studio to help them figure out how to write the story we were always supposed to get. I want Good to defeat Evil. I want Light to triumph over Darkness. As a Christian I like being a light in a dark world. I like a truly heroic story. That's why the original Halo trilogy was such a good heroic story. Because Bungie was different back then and understood how to write such a thing. They understood Good beating evil. Light defeating darkness. Now they don't. I know a lot of people like edgy dark stories, and as a gamer that doesn't I'm probably a minority. But as with Captain America who had to, "Stand in the river of truth. Withstand the world telling him to 'move', and then telling the world, 'No. You move.'" I will stand by what I feel is right in this. I feel that "The Light" winning over "The Darkness" is the story we should have had long ago with a new amazing Golden Age beginning and us going out into the galaxy... Spreading "The Light" wherever we go. It should have been this way. The game we should have had. And it's the game that; if Bungie realized it, we could still have. It's not too late Bungie. It's not too late. Unless this begins happening... Bungie will probably not receive money from me anymore. I'm on the fence about Beyond Light. I know it's probably going to leave me sad. I might still get it. But if I don't see any hope of our story embracing victory with "The Light" one day... Then this might be the last expansion I buy for Destiny 2. If I actually do buy it at all. Please hear me Bungie. We can still win with "The Light." It's not too late Bungie. It's not too late.
