Guardians - Do not waste your time "upgrading" your Majestic armor to Magnificent armor. The only thing that happens is a name change on the item card on your character screen Congrats, Bungie. You've set a new gold standard when it comes to generating player aggravation. So I get that upgrading the Renewed armor set gives you the Majestic set. The reward is transforming a rare set into a legendary set. This is where you lose me. I grinded out the activities necessary to "upgrade" the Majestic set into the Magnificent set, went to meditate at the tower and got.....absolutely nothing. NOTHING. The armor set didn't change in any way: no power level increase, no masterwork, no change in appearance or stats. No new drops, no new quest - just - nothing. Completing all of those objectives was tedious and required a lot of time - time that I now know was completely wasted. For the love of god - why on Earth would you design a quest, a quest that is ostensibly the primary goal for this entire event, a quest requiring an enormous amount of time to complete, with no rewards? Who, exactly, did you think was going to be happy about this?
