When I stopped playing Destiny it was still under Activision. Part of the reason I left is everything I enjoyed doing kept vanishing. I loved the faction grind for Dead Orbit, loved Crucible, and we saw both suffer under Activision. After much persuasion from friends trying to convince me that Bungie has worked so hard and fixed so much, that I should come back as I would love Destiny like I used to, I did and I do. They were right, it's amazing again.
But like here we go again.. lol a friend just told me about sunsetting... now that my new favorite thing on Destiny in place of Dead Orbit is Ada and the Black Armory, it's going away. ZzzZ
So my question is why? I understand why the Dead Orbit is gone, the lore kind of demanded it. It would be nonsensical for them to have remained. The city needed to come together after it almost fell and all that, I understand why factions are gone. But I don't understand why they are just trashing Black Armory and Ada. Ada goes into this whole thing about the future of the Armory, and how guardians getting access is this new direction they're embracing. The weapons are gorgeous, they feel good, it gives me that faction grind feel... I really don't understand why they don't just sunset her current arsenal if they MUST I guess, and just give us new Armory objectives and weapons. Like, keep Ada around, keep the Armory, just refresh the content.
My own bad timing I guess but it's super frustrating to come back, have this new thing I love, and now it's gone like next month... REALLY frustrating and takes a lot of the wind out of my sails. I enjoy the pve part of Destiny, I like Black Armory, and I LOVE doing the forge even when I don't have a frame. It's chaotic and challenging and fun. And I reiterate again, why trash the whole armory? Is there a replacement faction for it? Or more of that old frustration of just a gaping hole where content used to be? Bungie, just refresh the Armory, don't ghost it. I love Ada, and the lore, and the Armory, just bring new objectives in instead of closing the doors.
