Greetings Guardians!
I was wondering about the Eriana's Vow Catalyst. I have the Quest for obtain it which requires a total of 400 Points. I've noticed that I get 1 Point for Strike and I suppose it should be the same for Crucible matches and Gambit matches (I guess?).
I was wondering if there were other ways in order to obtain more Points or if I simply need to be patient and bring it on slowly in the curse of the next months.
Thanks in advance for you answers!

Lol there aint no way im grinding 400 crucible matches/strikes THE NIGHTFALLS DONT EVEN COUNT. Yeah its a thing that will cost you like honestly if youre a daily player like me maybe like half a month? -
Just finished the grind for it...It took a while, but I just paced myself.

It was a seasonal 3xotic so the quest had progression bonus when it was done IN season. Now its just 1 point for any activity. You basically just have to keep grinding it out my dude
-
You have to play 400 matches with it to get 400 points for The Vow quest, after that, you need to grind 700 kills to unlock the catalyst in order to equip it, I almost have the second part done.
-
Took me a few weeks, i farmed the hell out of strikes. Many recommend gambit prime, but personally unless you have s team for gambit strikes are best. You can also grind it passively whilst playing pvp if you like.

Unfortunately the season weapon catalysts only have boosters for that particular season. If you get the weapon late or don't work on the catalyst until after the season is over it will be a heck of a grind.
-
Yep, you are going to have to do 400 activities. I didn't grind a lot that season either, so I'm just now at the 370ish mark. It goes a lot faster during the season the weapon was introduced (so get that Witherhoard done now!), because the season pass gives you 4x the progression. Eventually.

Its 1 point per complete match, or completed strike. It may take you a while .......
-
I believe gambit gives more % but not 100% on this
-
Bad news is, its gonna go really sloooooow because the catalyst booster only works for this seasons pass exotic. The good news is, with the catalyst its one of the best weapons in the game, and you will feel like it was worth grinding out.

There used to be boosts back during Season of the Undying, but I believe every activity (except Nightfalls) will only give 1 to progress for each completion. Nightfalls for whatever reason don't count towards the catalyst quest progression.
-
Cat progression was faster in Season of the Undying. I didn’t finish it then and didn’t get the catalyst until this season I think. Despite this, I have heard that the buffs the catalyst gives are really helpful.
-
The catlyst is worth it if you can stand the grind. Auto reload helps alot.
-
I did mine while playing Iron Banner back when it was released. Seems the more kills I got increased the gains.

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 8/5/2020 11:04:55 PMThere was a bonus of 4x back in season of undying, I think. If you didn't finish it back then, you're stuck at 400.

Gambit Prime is the only thing that speeds it up, requiring 200 games instead of 400. If you have gotten it back during Season 8 then you could've gotten catalyst boosts that would've quartered the time needed to get it. It's an overtedious grind that should've been reduced at this point, but at least it's catalyst is good (+3 in the mag and get auto-reloading holster).
-
Gambit prime or strikes, it will be painful either way
-
I would put it on until I got that thing done. It is a phenomenal gun, especially if you like to run stuff with champions.
-
Definitely worth the grind. You get reload while holstered and 9 shots in a magazine. Combined with a few hand cannon mods and you have the perfect anti-hive weapon.
-
Sadly I think it’s a grind for people now. But it’s well worthy it. That weapon is a lot of fun. ( In my opinion of course )

Nothing you can do now. During the season it was released there was a boost for it but now you just gonna have to slog away at 1 point per activity. I only finished it last season as well.
