Title says most of it. I’ve finally saved up for a computer, for my personal use. Main thing, is my parents won’t let me keep it in my room. So I need your help; Why are some reasons I should keep the computer in my room?
Some other things to know:
- They want the computer next to the family one, which is located next to my brother and his loud Overwatch playing. There’s very little space there, and I’d boot out my moms laptop space.
- They generally like logical reasons for these things, so keep that in mind.
- I have a perfect spot for it, literally nothing else is there, aside from a cup of pens.
That’s basically it. Y’all are my last lifeline to have an isolated area where I can game in peace!

You need a quiet space to research and do homework.

Okay, if you're serious about this then there is only one possible solution. You have to have the talk. You need to explain that, yes, you realize that there are a lot of bad things online, but that they have raised you to be a moral person and that you will do your best to avoid that kind of thing. Tell them that, as a maturing teenager, you need to learn how to decide for yourself what is and is not acceptable in life. Admit that you will, at times, be shocked and disgusted by what you might encounter, but that shielding you will only make it a bigger shock when you're older. Ask them to trust that they have raised you properly. And good luck, you'll need it.

Just a question are you anywhere close to 18?

If all else fails, MX Blues are audibly clicky.

What are their reasons for not letting you? If they are logical that’s what you need to counter. If they don’t trust you then you could suggest some kind of monitoring software so you cannot look up the pronz Just remember to definitely not look any up 😅

Assuming you're in school you can form a lot of arguments for the ease of completing homework with a PC in your room, especially if that's where you normally do homework. Additionally, if you're school is moving online at all due to covid then that makes an even stronger argument.

I feel ya man. I’ve been through the exact same thing. One thing you’ve got to keep in mind is patience. It’s not just gonna happen overnight, even if you’re just convincing them. What you need to do is find out exactly why they want it in that other spot, and come up with solutions to their problems that benefit both of you. For example, if they’re worried you’d spend too much time on it without their supervision, make it a point to balance your day by doing other things instead of just playing on PC. Work on a project, clean house, show them that they have nothing to fear.

So you can do your work uninterrupted and actually focus. Plus talk to friends, it’s just nicer to do it without people around. I assume you would be using headphones but if you use speakers that’s just rude.
also PP dance

jkjk
If you were playing a game and talking to teamates it would contribute to noise pollution in the house

It’s easier to put it where there is free space, instead of moving things around in an already cramped area.
