What I am trying to get at here is that since to unlock the focused umbral that contains both weapons is by doing the normal season pass. I am suggesting that any player should be able to focus into the engram that has the current Seasonal weapons, but those without the season pass cannot open it. The way to open it even without the season pass is if they unlocked Cold Denial and Falling Guillotine to focus into that umbral that requires it.
Also as a bonus: For Bungie if they read this far... I find it odd that even if some current seasonal weapons (like the new caster frame sword) can be dropped at Contact event, one would think you don't need a season pass for the drop? Because I never gotten the drop at all, only umbral engrams which makes me a bit sad to see when seeking the Contact event weapons. So I do hope that Bungie can help me understand why that I somehow cannot get these weapons to drop from the Contact event when anyone can literally do the Contact event and farm?

Ehy Nick =) I'm afraid that there is no much to say about it =/ Season Passes are a common part of the videogames reality nowadays, expecially in on-line games and GAAS. They are probably the most subdole way to monetize that we have ever experienced so far, because they make you pay for contents, but instead to give them to you immediately, they also ask you to actually play the game for hours in order to unlock them. Plus, they also promote FOMO, which is even worse. Of course, not all the players will share this as they see the Season Pass a good way to incentivate their time playing the game. We only have different point of views and there is nothing bad about this. When I discovered that New Light players without the Season Pass were able to find Umbral Engrams I was surprised too. Of course, you can simply discard them, but why make players find an Item that they can't use? The only logical answer I gave to myself is that to influence players to buy the Season Pass. In the end, Bungie is a SH and they run a business. They are here to make money. We could discuss about HOW to do this (and someone could make good examples comparing SHs like EA and CD Red Project, for example), but right now this is what they have to offer. Now it is up to you to chose what to do about it. I don't think there is a good or a bad choice, neither a right one, nor a wrong one. It only depends about how do you feel about this and how you want to invest your money and your time. Hope this may be helpfull.
