Scouts are great on maps designed for them. Rusted Lands, Midtown, Widows Court. Nothing wrong with them at all, just there are a lot of maps in rotation that lend themselves to mid range weapons like pulses and autos. Scouts aren't the problem. You using them wrong is.

Nope. Scouts are legitimately in a poor place. Why? Because they don't deal enough flinch. In fact, D2's flinch mechanic often works against you by bouncing the opponent's reticle onto your face and lining up a headshot for them. Scouts can use some slight tuning up. Let's be real.

They aren't the strongest, nor are they the weakest. They're effective in the right situation and thats absolutely fine. Regarding a tune up, a lot of weapons are in the same boat tbh, not just scouts.

  • What "right situation"? They lose to snipers at long range because of bad flinch mechanics and they lose to autos at mid range because scouts are unforgiving weapons by nature compared to other primaries. At this point, scouts are only good at a distance against players that aren't sniping... which is not the meta. Yes. They are in a poor place. Let's not kid ourselves.

  • Of course they could lose to a sniper, a sniper is a OHK special weapon. With that said, my last two games on Widows Court were a 3.5kd and a 9kd. Both using scout rifles. I stand by my original comment, scouts aren't the problem, the people using them are. Sure the flinch mechanic is a little screwed in this game, but if you're trying to challenge an already scoped in sniper who is looking at you then you are more to blame for being killed than the gun you're using. Land the first two shots on a player with mida and you'll have landed the 3rd and 4th before they've even figured out where you were shooting from and scoped in. Im not trying to say I thing they're strong, or the meta, because they aren't. But to say they're in a "poor" place is a step too far. The only thing that a scout needs, is a tad more flinch. I said about high cal stopping people sprinting already, but i think they could even go as far as to have two levels of flinch. Say body shots stay as the current flinch level, but headshots do double flinch, maybe? That gives all weapons a slight boost in general, but definitely benefits scouts.
