Would restricting your computer ports to block matchmaking be considered network manipulation? I know that, at face value, it might. But consider that sometimes these ports are blocked by default by the ISP. I'm not talking about Trials or anything, I'm specifically mentioning it for strikes, because I remember a certain popular YouTuber posting a PowerShell script about how to solo queue into strikes (doesn't alter anything in game, just port rules in the OS).
Popular gaming publication PC Gamer describes how to do this, and many forums including Reddit's DestinyTheGame have mentions of the method too. It just involved port rules.
I mention all of this because I want to make sure I'm sticking to the rules, I don't want to do anything to get myself banned doing something that I thought was perfectly fine.
If any moderator wants to know exactly what I'm talking about, let me know, but I don't want to post the method here out of fear that it is indeed network manipulation. Again, it doesn't involve third-party software, any networking services, or anything else.
Thanks!
EDIT: Removed link to article as it described exactly how to do this and I am still unclear if doing this is allowed by Bungie.
