Shadowkeep is severely lacking weapons with sight/scope options which contributes heavily to the new weapons being mostly just... bad. This is becoming a serious issue when our older good weapons start sunsetting and we are left with bb guns. I know you know we know the zoom factor on weapons is directly related to their effective range - as well as their reticle climb. Without any scope options we are left with weapons with such laughable effective range that we'd be better off throwing the bullets. While this may not be an issue for all players and situations, it still severely limits the versatility and viability of our weaponry.
Think back to some older classics like the Antiope and Blast furnace. What makes those weapons great is not only the great traits they (can) have, but also their available scopes that enable them to be effective at (much) longer distances than their unscoped counterparts. Antiope with SC Holo can be played like a nippy short range auto, Blast furnace with either of its long zoom options can deal with enemies (think the snipers either side of the bridge in reckoning) afar like a scout and auto rifles with medium to long scopes enable them to be great general purpose, do it all weapons for both pve and pvp. Barrel options in comparison, that have now almost entirely replaced sight options, have next to no noticeable impact on how the weapon applies itself to different situations and they are, in a word, just uninspired, boring, inconsequential.

Someone watches aztecross. The scopes control range more, and barrels control recoil direction more. There should be a mix of weapons in the game with scopes and barrels. I think the best way to do that would be to get new foundry weapons, new veist, omolon, hakke, and suros weapons, I don't think we've seen enough of these foundries weapons.
