So, I plan on resuming Broken Honor come July (I’m taking a bunch of college courses right now, but I’ll free up in July). I want to keep writing and writing, and the story is likely nowhere near finished, but I’ve had a thought.
I’m not going to spoil it, but there will come a point where I might have an opportunity to create an RP event that links with Broken Honor. It’ll likely serve as the conclusion to the story. Should I write a conclusion, or do an event?
Writing a conclusion means I can direct the end of the story according to my best judgement. I can probably eke out a few chapters and make it epic.
Alternatively, in an event, it’s unpredictable, but it’s a TON of fun. However, it’s not guaranteed to be the ending that I was hoping for. If I’ve learned anything from DMing, it’s that you never underestimate the creativity or stupidity of people. You can make something seem really obvious, and they might still not get it.
Edit: Here’s the other thing about an RP - several characters in the story are named after users. I’d have to make those characters my own so those people who submitted characters can RP as well.
Take Cmirg for example. Cmirg is my main villain, but I’m pretty sure he’d like to RP in the event and help bring the story to a conclusion.
Edit 2: Or I could post sign ups and do something like SpeakerOfTheDeep did with his Vault B raid - run a D&D-like thing through the ending and do OAFL-style posts recording it.
