The fact that it's anecdotal doesn't make it any less true. Look at all of the other posts from people who are having the exact same experience.
The right way to play the game is to actually play it. End of story. If you're AFK'ing, you're not playing, and therefore, you're not playing the game the right way. I'm sorry, but that's not up for discussion. They aren't playing the game. They're not. They are doing other things while the game runs in the background. If I load up a movie on Netflix, and then go to bed, I am not watching a movie. If I open a book and lay it on my bed, and then I go make dinner, I'm not reading a book. If I fire up The Last of Us, and then I go to work while the game runs at home, I'm not playing the Last of Us.
The fact that players have found a way to manipulate game systems to get rewards they didn't earn, does not mean they're playing the game. They objectively are not playing the game. That is a fact. You can disagree, but it's not my fault if you don't understand how works work.
