It is by far the most efficient strategy to level your character. If the game had a more efficient leveling system built into it's more legitimate systems we would be utilizing that. Many other games have leveling systems that put you close to end game levels at the end of story content. So you don't have to work as hard. This game makes you play hours upon hours, days upon weeks even, to get to end game levels. And it makes you play content we've already been playing up to this point.
TLDR: If you Make a better leveling experience, you will get more players who want to engage with it And not *want* to find the exploits.

Edited by A_O_Assault: 6/15/2020 12:55:22 AMGladd is doing a stream as we speak with AFK Forge Farming. Unreal...

Because people are lazy on a damn game . Instead of grinding and getting every thing little by little . They rather do that bs and get everything all fast and then blame bungie that ther is nothing to do and cry for the rest of the season .
-
It seems pretty clear that not only does Bungie not care about exploits they encourage them. I started playing when forsaken launched and instantly saw gambit players afking or botting to get the match count for Breakneck. In most games it would be a tos violation and get accounts suspended or banned, here it is common place and even jokes about in some TWABs

For anyone looking, there's a lot of people that deserve to be reported in this thread.
-
Hey -blam!-nuts, here's an idea: If you're going to so much goddamn effort to NOT play the game, how about you do everyone else a solid and -blam!-ING UNINSTALL THE GAME AND ACTUALLY STOP PLAYING THE GAME. Seriously, it's not rocket science. Just don't play the game if you DON'T WANT TO PLAY THE GAME.
-
It's a massive revolt! Guardians are starting to lose their patience. ....and because its a time saver and technically not against TOS. That said, players should do their part to lower their level before joining to well below 750. If not and they are messing with people legit trying to do what they have to in the forges tahts just pretty crappy.

Edited by wookiee: 6/15/2020 1:47:34 AMi started afk farming as i saw a few of my friends at the beginning of the season where their light level was 25 more than mine, i'd already done the powerful stuff and crept up around 2 level ranks, the pinnacle activities were are are still too high for me to attempt even after afk farming. i managed to get to 1034.7 total power excluding the +5 on my seasonal artifact, via afk, and i can manage to do a 1020 NF and below and survive alot better, before i tried the 750 NF at the beginning of the season and got wreaked at every turn 16-30 deaths in one run it was not fun at all, so thats why i afk farmed forges just to boost me a little, where i am now (1034.7) is perfectly fine and as for the farming method i don't need to do it anymore as the game is much more enjoyable now i can kill stuff in pve and survive in activities (pve) don't do pvp so my level advantage is not a problem, never liked pvp from the beginning, its just not my play style.

Take an upvote.

I'm doing it because the leveling system is boring, uninteresting, and just overall not worth doing. So I'll just keep afk farming and then try out the Dungeon then be done cause there wont be anything else worth doing.

Edited by Chunk: 6/15/2020 12:59:35 AMAs bungie has stated in a tweet to massive, the division 2 team, after massive banned their players for exploiting a glitch. we do not ban our players for our technical short comings, we bite the bullet and allow it to happen. I'm pretty sure it would be easy to patch, stop the forges from looping. Hello... I believe they are allowing it to happen so more players can get to a higher light so they can partake in the grand master nightfalls.
-
What’s story content ?!?! Is it like endless bounties for content?
-
Players are lazy. If there is a way to cheese anything in the game, players will take advanatge of it.
-
I don't like the fact that players use afk farming, but I agree.
-
why is anyone even leveling tho what is the goal lmao

Edited by Oryx's Slimy Worm: 6/15/2020 12:18:51 AMThe only downfall to this method is that ive already used all of the stuff that focuses these engrams 😔 Edit: nvm I am a big forehead I have the atunment to where I get it from forges

Well since we're on that topic, I'm AFKing for materials for armor upgrades at 250 a pop. With the whole sunset and all

So I’m hurting 0 players...The people complaining about it need to chill.

I was level 1050 by Wednesday and I haven’t ran a single forge. It’s not the most efficient way, it’s the laziest way.
-
That might be why you're doing it but that's not why I'm doing it; I'm doing it because this season - like all the rest - is just boring and not engaging whatsoever. Like who here thinks public event v7.0 is 'content'? I'd much rather not play and do whatever the latest exploit is.
-
You're wrong. Everyone looks for short cuts. This could be the most immersive and compelling game In the world, and these people would still do this because they'd rather be a higher level than not.

My friend wants me to end up helping with dungeons etc. I am incredibly bored of the game and have zero interest in playing it for hours a day to level up. They’ve made the overall grind boring and too long. That grind has completely put me off the game (I didn’t even play last season) and my only interest is to play very casually with my friend. I can either farm power level so I feel it’s worthwhile me playing the other activities or I can not play the game at all. There is no in between for me. Bungie’s call.
-
I am afk farming because I want to get to the Dungeon more quickly. All three ritual activities are the same that we’ve been playing for months and months. I think there are many here that are tired of the same activities. Tired not of the idea of strikes, crucible, or gambit but tired of the same ones that are in the playlists. Making them more difficult (trials or the new nightfall difficulty level) isn’t making them new or fresh. They are still the same things we’ve seen for a long time. Now that sunsetting is a thing I’ve honestly come to the realization that I’d rather they burn it all down and wipe everything; end D2 and bring us D3. Why? Though me may still have strikes, gambit, and crucible in D3 they would have to be all new maps, playlists, entire strikes at least initially. I don’t want to mindlessly grind. If they were all new strikes to grind then at least they are fresh and they have nuances to learn and become better at completing. The issue isn’t light level grind it’s stale content to do said grind. Those that have been playing since D1 I fear are not going to be engaged by returning raids, strikes, and locations from D1 because for as much as nostalgia is nice our mind eye has already seen this a million times over just like the content that is in D2. So maybe Bungie should go dark. This September expansion and seasons dlc should be the end. The remaining planned content for the following two years be turned into a proper sequel, fleshed out and new. They are going to take everything away via sunsetting anyway or make you regrind the same items every X months when the previous leaves the light cap. So might as well do it properly and give a a proper new and fleshed out game.
-
Wait so how fast is it? I would consider it if it didn't detract from others experience. Though forges are already one of the fastest activities so maybe I could just do them normal.

I am someone who loves the grind in general. But at this point I just want to get levelled up and hit the dungeon. Killing boars in the Forrest over and over to rank up my light level isn't very appealing. The raid and trials should be the path to max imo. Meanwhile, I will be forging as I sleep (on my main 👍)
