Hey there, I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this. When I load into the Season of Arrivals intro mission on Io and approach the first overlook way point my PS4 Pro fans go "jet engine" and the machine runs hotter and hotter the closer I get. If I run to the way point fully it will overheat and shut itself off.
I've tried cleaning out the fan vents and completely re-installing (took 6 hours). Any reason this would be happening or any tips/advice? Thank you!

I've been having the she problem with my PS4 Pro, first it was thru the digital Destiny 2 game on PS Now, and it was that exact spot the game was directing me to stand in the little "dusty" area, to view that huge pyramid ship thing in the distance. so I bought the disc version(Destiny 2) and thought that would fix it. But no, even making a new character and starting a new game in my wife's psn profile, still over heated and forced a shutdown. Sadly disappointed. Me and my daughter loved playing the first Destiny game together, hours and hours of fun. I bought our second ps3 just so she could sit in her room and play Destiny online with me, she was like 10 at the time. But we have been looking forward to this Destiny 2 game for a while, just a huge let down.

Edited by STAR: 6/20/2020 11:27:47 AMhaving exactly same problem on my third character. Ever since season of arrival, my PS4 pro has been overhearting, fan constantly running, lagging, framedropping, and now shutting down on the same spot of the mission. Edit : i solved it by lowering resolution from 2160 to 720 and not looking at the shiny particles (walking backwards to the spot)

I’m having the same issue. I switched to my second character but it keeps overheating at the exact spot you mentioned even tho my PS4 is clean and well vented.

I'm having the same issue on a PS4 pro. Same place as has been mentioned. Is there going to be a patch for this? I'm not sure I want to open up the PS4 to fix this issue.

Edited by Sarah Rose: 6/11/2020 9:58:33 AMYes. That particle effect overheats the HELL out of your system. Mine completely crashed and had to restore the database entirely. Try holding out a sword when you go there, it seems to help a little bit.

I tried cleaning my ps4 and everything and it still didn't work and I paid for the season pass I guess I just wasted money

Same problem here. Mine doesn’t overheat it just hard crashes. Have to reboot into safe mode. Happens exactly the same point every single time. Can’t progress atall

I am experiencing the same problem, doesn’t happen on any other game either

Same thing is happening to me. I tried right away in the morning after my ps4 had been off for hours, the system shut down right away when I tried to play it. Idk what to do, my system is only 5 months old PS4 pro

Overheating would be an issue where you would have to open your ps4 to fix

I had to replace the thermal paste on mine and it has not overheated since. There are YouTube videos you can watch to learn how to do it.

I had the same happen last night. Ran through intro mission for Season of Arrivals with my Titan. A couple hours later, tried to play through as my Warlock and PS4 gave a warning that it was overheating and needed to shut down. PS4 is clean and in a well-ventilated area. Fan was "jet engine" loud. :(

I had the same problem last night. After the 4th try, i opened ps4, srill clean, my system is under 6 months old, i let it cool for about an hour or 2, then ran straight for the mission. Once i hit the intro check point fan went crazy, then was able to get past that. Haven't overheated since.
