Honor is highly lacking in our society. What people don't realize is this... Honor is something that is freely given AND SHOULD BE given. Respect is earned. In other words... They are two separate things. As a follower of Jesus I try to honor people above myself. Not perfect at it but I do my best. I do this, even in video games. Because honor affects everyone, in ANY situation. If I treat you fairly and with honor then you are not likely to be angry and dishonorable back in my face. Most of the time. But a lot of people; especially those that don't believe as I do (or those who have just never been taught about honor), just treat people however they feel like. This is especially a problem in video games online. Since there are generally no repercussions for people's actions online, people don't care about other people. Only themselves.
In real life you wouldn't just run up to someone and knock them down and try to teabag them for a laugh or to see what kind of reaction you can get. That's just ridiculous. You could face some serious problems if you tried to do this to people in real life. I'd have an Extremely hard time remembering to act how Jesus would act if someone tried to do this to me in real life. Chances are I'd knock the person out whenever I got up. lol. It's just ridiculous that people tend to act out whenever it's online. "Oh you can't just jump through the screen and destroy me so I'm gonna treat you like utter crap! HA HA HA!" If you tried to act like this in some 3rd world country in real life you would probably get shot.
When online, acting this way may not have Physical ramifications but no one seems to realize how much we are hurting each other and ourselves. When you decide to act this way you change your mindset. You basically are subtly teaching yourself how to mistreat others. And it Will leach it's way into your real life situations. And it also affects the people you do it to as well. These people may get angry and feel offended and it'll leak into how they feel about things and make them slowly feel like everyone is out to mistreat them and hurt them. Eventually the person doing the hurting and thinking it's funny and okay may run into someone that has had this stuff happen to them a lot before. Maybe say... when looking for a job. And the victim is the person that has too hire this person that does this kind of thing. He may pick up on your bad attitude or your weird basically "jerk" mannerisms and say, "I'm not going to hire This jerk." And see... results from dishonoring each other pouring into real life.
What most people don't realize is how most thoughts, feelings, and actions we do affects ourselves in our minds and hearts and changes how other people think and feel about us and life in general as well. And God knows every little thing we think, say, and do. Honor is a lost virtue. It's not taught by hardly anyone in our society. Heck it's not remembered much even by people that follow Jesus like me anymore. But my pastor said it best back when my church had a series of messages about Honor. He said, "Whatever/whoever you honor comes closer to you and is more open too you in life." More opportunity. More doors open. More happiness. He also said, "Whatever/whoever you dishonor moves away from you in life." Less opportunity. Doors closing or staying closed. Less happiness for everyone involved, especially yourself. He said this for us Followers but this involves pretty much every aspect of life for everyone. If we could all just honor each other; even in a video game, above ourselves, we wouldn't be having this discussion in this World. And Destiny would be a much more fun place to play.
Also... With our current situation. I pray for real justice; whatever that may be. I pray for good changes in our culture. I pray for less violence, from whoever is doing it. And I pray for God to reach into every heart. Because only if we change on the inside; as individuals, will the outside around us begin to change as a whole. God Bless every one of you.

Hold on...am I the only one knocking down and tea bagging random strangers in real life?
