How to beat Burning Maul 100% of the time:
1. Jump
2. You win
How could this possibly have happened? What was bungie thinking when they "buffed" maul?
There is no reason to use the light attack ever. EVER. It doesn't kill non-super guardians in 1 hit like other super light attacks do, so it's automatically bad. And it can only be activated once in the air, making it laughable as a mobility option. It also has high end lag if you decide to stop using it, making you a sitting duck. High risk, low reward.
Heavy attack takes way too long to start and doesn't hit all around you like Fists of Havoc does, and can be dodged by simply walking to the side or jumping. No, the tracking isn't that good. No, the vertical range "buff" they gave it is not good. If you jump, you live, that simple.
Unlike other roaming supers, Maul has basically no mobility options. This would be fine if it was like Golden Gun, which kills from very far to make up for no mobility tricks. This is not the case. Even if you count light attack as a mobility option (it really isn't) the heavy attack is not good enough to make up for it.
Even for PvE, the only viable strat it to spam heavy attack. Light attack serves no purpose in any mode of play, and heavy attack is ONLY good at single target sustain damage, like bosses. By far the worst super in the PvP meta, if not the entire game.
Anyone who thinks otherwise better have really good evidence, or I'm just going to dismiss you as blind/delusional. Sorry if it sounds harh but I'm tired of having an entire subclass of my main class be handed the short end of the stick. I've seen others with the same opinion everywhere, yet somehow update after update goes by without any change from Bungie. Let's change that, shall we?

Not to mention the fact that it take ten years to actually activate the super
